American security assault colombian fans visiting america for the world cup
Threw him like a sack of potatoes: Have you ever been in such a situation? Was the security officer in the right for doing this?
Account manager doesn’t want to be questioned
Context: I was told my relief called off at 10:30am and I’m out at 2:30pm. I called the person(Account manager) who told me that my relief called off. I called once after 30 minutes to ask about relief. They didn’t answer. I waited another 30 minutes to call again and no answer. They then put a thumbs up on my text and then immediately took it off. I waited for a text and got none so I called again. They sent a text that they can’t answer and to text. I simply ask if there was coverage found. They text back “If coverage was found I would notify you that coverage was found..”
I left it at that and just kept working. I didn’t call or text again. At 12:50 they text they found coverage. I text back a copy and thank you. They text back
“Yeah , moving forward please don't question me. If you're well aware that I communicate with you correctly when im available to do so.
I've always updated you if your relief calls off.
I update you with whether you have a relief or not. Thankfully another guard was willing to enter in for you. “
All I got was a text saying my relief called off. This same person has told me before that they have a bad memory and forget things often and to remind them of things because they have a lot going on. The text they usually send says how my relief called off and they are looking for coverage. Or they tell me that they couldn’t find coverage and I’m doing at 16 hour shift. Also they have more than once texted me that my relief called off only to say to disregard as they sent it to the wrong person. They also always text both my personal cell and the work cell phone. This time I only got it on my personal.
Once they texted me my relief was going to be an hour late when my relief was right in front of me. When I asked my relief about it, he said he didn’t know why that was sent to me. When I asked the account manager they simply said that my relief had told they were going to be late and that they just told me to inform me about it. They didn’t know why he was already there.
Is the Ranger Security Academy Worth it?
I’m hoping to get training to get my security guard license, and this site and agency is one of the first places I came across, if anyone in this community has been trained with these guys I’d like to know if it’s worth the money and time
And if not how I would like to know what I should do as a different means of training to obtain my security license
Unarmed Security Guard - Armed Security Guard Question - Deadly Force Question
Hello,
In my state you can have a AR or a long gun at the age of 18, be qualified for an armed guard card. I have both, my new security job is a vehicle patrol in a sketchy assignment where they require you to carry your weapon in your vehicle. I’m 19, I want to be a police officer, but god forbid I ever have to use it, what happens?
I want to either accept or reject this position, I don’t want to go to prison for shooting someone while protecting another person life or property or protecting my own life. We carry body cams. Is the use of deadly force be protected if it’s self defense? Can someone spread some law knowledge to me please? I really do not know jackshit or why they even trusted me.
Did security for a 5+ years in NYC. How do I go about becoming an armed guard in NYC/NJ?
Also which method is quicker and easier to get licensed? NJ or NYC?
Do supervisors have control over every officer in the company?
Had a weird encounter with a site supervisor at another site. walked into the store just to purchase lunch and already he is pressing me about my uniform and my buissness there. my beret was on my shoulder strap and he told me im suppose to wear it at all times at his site i told him im not at my site so im keeping it off to avoid heat stroke. he then asked me what im doing there told him im here to get lunch and it was closer than walking 2km
Just because I back talked he wants to write me up for it.
Im not sure if i will get in trouble but HR has never taken my side when things seemed unjust
Always doing so much - bouncer
This shit is so funny

California "Patrolman" Security badge
I see a really nice Blackinton marked PATROLMAN SECURITY OFFICER badge with a California seal center on a very popular auction site. It looks much nicer than any security badge I have ever seen. What is the law on California security badges and their wear?
2nd week working at the gate. Captain said he likes how i work and that he will give me 40 hours a week. (What i wanted) currently working 32 and that he is going to make me a FTO. Is that good or bad? lol new here
reddit.comReal good sleeping, HOW?
am changing jobs soon. At my current job, I worked 24-hour shifts. I used to sleep there from 10 PM to 7 AM, and on a couch, because I had a room that I equipped with everything I needed. At my new job, I want to sleep as well, and I will be looking for a position where that is possible. Sleeping in a chair doesn't work for me; I need some kind of bed. For those of you who sleep at work, how do you manage this? Please, only honest replies, because we all know that at least 50% of security guards sleep and that there are positions where you realistically don't need to stay awake."
Anyone got a miserable colleague who hates seeing you happy?
I've got this older colleague who's 57 and been working at this company for 16 years. I on the other hand have only been here for about 3 months. Unlike others who would find sitting in an office for 12 hours a day, excluding patrols, and doing nothing as a dream job and I love watching YouTube but at the end of the day I still need to do some work or I get bored. This often results in me sending off 10 to 12 emails during the night and weekend shift when I'm on my own. I rotate between night and day shift. I also do 4 days on and 4 days off and I get bored by day 3 off so when overtime comes, I take it.
This guy on the other hand seems quite miserable and doesn't exactly enjoy that I like the job but like I said, I get bored when I've got nothing to do. The same with my 3 other colleagues who like doing nothing. This older colleague on the other hand has the same position as me and hasn't been given a promotion allegedly due to a disciplinary because he booked another employee off years ago. I doubt this is true and the reason he hasn't been promoted is due to the fact that this guy is good at his job and training someone to that level takes a long time.
Another thing is that the manager seems to have thing against my colleague because when my colleague messes up, he gets told off much more than the others because he's been here longer. I'm lucky that I don't get told off by my manager. Two of my other colleagues got told off quite bad and the last was in the manager bad books for asking for a shift change only 1 month into the job
Is the job posting for Dollar Tree for real?
All,
I'm just doing my daily new job posting review and see this Physical Security Specialist job for Dollar Tree. The posted salary range is 92K up to 107K. This Dollar Tree, that is a good salary for a security specialist.
Do they really pay that much for Asset Protection?
Thanks,
Hey yall. Need advice abt calling off
So i recently moved to a new state. Working with a new security company. And I need to get my liscence and car registered for said state. Problem is since the dmv is a psycop made only to waste ppls time. The hours dont line up with my shift at all. Is this the kind of thing worth calling off over? Ive only completed my first week and dont want to give the impression of "that guy"
Comfortable duty belt recommendations
Company issued one is fine, but ive been curious if there is one that i could get thats just a little more comfortable and doesn't sag as much or shift around awkwardly when getting in and out of a car. The one im using is honestly just minor inconvenience, and only sometimes, so im not sweating it too much.
Well, lights out: Former boxer Julius Francis, now a security officer, knocks out loudmouth. Do you think this was necessary?
I used Claude Code to build an iPhone app, Apple Watch app, and landing page… now it has 1,500+ users
I wanted to share a project I built with Claude Code and also explain the why behind it for anyone trying to build something similar.
The app is called LOC8. It started from a real problem I noticed in law enforcement. During foot pursuits, perimeter setups, large apartment complexes, alleys, backyards, or unfamiliar areas, it is easy to get turned around and need to quickly relay your exact location.
The idea was not to build another map app. The idea was to remove friction. Maps can give you a blue dot, but when you need the actual address, nearest cross street, GPS coordinates, heading, and accuracy fast, there are still extra steps. LOC8 puts that information on one screen for iPhone and Apple Watch.
Claude Code helped me build basically everything: the iPhone app, Apple Watch app, location logic, UI iterations, bug fixes, edge cases, and landing page. I used it heavily for React Native, watchOS, location handling, design cleanup, and keeping the product consistent.
The hardest part was not showing GPS data. The hard part was making it feel fast and useful under stress. I had to think through things like location accuracy, Apple Watch responsiveness, speed gating, driving versus walking, address refresh behavior, cached location data, and how much information is actually useful at a glance.
So far the app has grown to 1,500+ users, made a little over $1.5k in under 2 months, and has been around a 25% App Store product page conversion rate. Most growth has come from Reddit posts and manual outreach.
The biggest lesson for me is that Claude Code works best when you bring a real problem to it. It did not invent the use case. I understood the pain point first, then used Claude Code to help turn it into a working product.
For anyone one or two steps behind me, my advice would be: do not start with “what app can AI build for me?” Start with “what annoying problem do I understand better than most people?” Then use AI to help you move faster, test more ideas, and ship.
Would love feedback on the concept, the Apple Watch side, or how you would improve the product from here.
