Wtf is access control

I M20 wanna start off by saying i like my job. Its ran well. Ppl are competent. But holy shit. I hate basically being functionally useless. I hate feeling slow and lazy. I wanna be up. I wanna do more. I wanna be active while also having a job thats not just "sit there look important" yes. I watch cams. Yes theres metal detectors. Yes I write reports. But my shift is dead 7/8ths of the my shift. Like I said. Love the job. I want a career doing security. But man I hate being basically a set piece. They give me a plate carrier but no plates dawg. Dont get me wrong. I love the job. Im grateful to have it. But the combination of sitting in a room all day. No real movement aside from pacing back and forth. Or checking bags. I wanna do more and be more.

1 year stoner anniversary

My boyfriend and I have recently moved in together. And it is our first anniversary. One of the gifts he got me was a snoop dog cook book. We thought it was funny and decided to get it. So for our anniversary dinner we ended up sparking up then baking some mack and cheese. Hope yall enjoy.

I need some opinions as im a horrible judge of my own character.

Greetings yall. Gonna start off by saying sorry for the bad formatting im on mobile. And this might not make much sense as it comes from a place of emotion. So basically. My family and I have always. Had a strained relationship. My father was a bit of a blacksheep. And since im his kid I caught the brunt of it due to being raised differently. Both in religious and financial status. We were much poorer but they kept us afloat. They'd pitch in. And help. But always said bad abt him. And basically tldr dad ends up in jail then eventually homeless. I at the time as an 18 year old lived with some other family members. My aunt dads sister. They plan my whole life out for me including religion. I say no. They kick me out i end up homeless on the streets and in shelters. No one tried to help. Especially today's big issue. My grandfather and grandmother. I guess it would be rude to expect help to begin with. But anyways they didnt care. So I eventually got off the streets. My distant relative heard what was going on. And actually helped me. Let me. Live with him and at this time im about 19 abt to be 20. My grandfather hears of this. Lets me come to his house to help him work as he is recovering from cancer. He berated me and yelled at ke over the slightest thing. Then pays me less than he said he would. Abt a week later he asks me to come work for him again. I reply saying I dont like how he treated me and I wont work for him until he changes that. He proceeds by getting my uncle and I in a group chat and insisting I be homeless again. He also talked shit abt my dad who passed away in 2025 due to homelessness and falling into fentanylThankfully my uncle is a good man. However he is kind of a bootlicker and got mad at me for talking out of turn towards my grandfather. So I play nice just to stay off the streets. Eventually i get my own place with some roomies. All goes well for awhile. I stay away from family. I live my life. And eventually i turn 20. My grandfather who previously talked shit abt my late father and said I should end up like him proceeds to buy me a car. Nothing crazy. Just a black suv works good. Had some issues. He payed for it all. It broke down again. He payed for the repairs. A few months later and another car repair later. He says that I've had a hard life. And gives me 1k in cash. Im sitting here bewildered as I didnt expect any of that. I took it. Obviously. Few months later im living in my own place. With my partner of a year. Anniversary on the 17th. But im still sitting here thinking that now im a state away. And on my feet. Do I forgive him? On one hand he helped me out. On the other hand idk why and I have no reason to trust him outside of material possessions. He never once apologized. And im still very hurt as this was in the grand scheme of things very recent. On one hand. He physically did help me out. On the other. He tried to throw me into homelessness.

Hey yall. Need advice abt calling off

So i recently moved to a new state. Working with a new security company. And I need to get my liscence and car registered for said state. Problem is since the dmv is a psycop made only to waste ppls time. The hours dont line up with my shift at all. Is this the kind of thing worth calling off over? Ive only completed my first week and dont want to give the impression of "that guy"

Any advice on moving up?

Hey guys hope yall are well. Im making this post regarding some questions ive got with the security field. So im only 20. Turning 21 this year. Id like to go armed. But im not entirely sure if its my best path upward. I absolutely love working security. As of right now im just a gate guard for a lumberyard. But I genuinely do want to do more. Possibly make a career out of it. But I wanted to ask yall if its worth going armed. I already plan on getting a permit once I turn 21. I dont have anything higher than just a highschool diploma. But I do have abt six months expierence at a post. Any advice would be totally appreciated
