Is Tacoma right for us?

Family of 3 looking to move on from Utah after 10 years. We are liberal ex Mormons (both 29 yo) with a 1yo baby. Husband is software engineer, I’m SAHM with a home business. We love nature and basically spend all our vacation time visiting national parks.

We love the mountains and parks of Utah but we’ve explored them pretty well at this point. We’ve also enjoyed how family friendly (amazing city parks, active libraries etc) it is here. Those are two primary things we’re looking to find in our next home.

I’d love to hear how you feel about Tacoma from:

  1. anyone who works in tech IN Tacoma (is that even a thing? Does everyone commute to Seattle or work remote?)

  2. young families with babies

Thank you in advance!

My 10m old has started taking food and toys from his other baby friends. It’s pretty cute for now but I’m just wondering when and how I’m supposed to start disciplining this behavior? What does that even look like when he’s so young?

We're headed there this coming weekend and planned to spend Sunday in Yosemite Valley. I know things have been crazy but I'm curious if things are any better on Sunday vs Saturday

I’ve (29F) suffered from dyspareunia since the day I started having sex. I’ve worked with several OBs off and on (quite a few were dismissive), done pelvic floor therapy… my whole history is not quite necessary. I live in Utah.

I like the OB I’ve started working with recently. She’s been quick to try new meds with me (Valium, gabapentin, ketamine…) and sometimes will call me after appts when she had another thought occur to her. At one of our latest appointments, I was the one who brought up vaginal Botox — I’ve done a lot of research on this and it seems like the next step. She said it’s a good idea but wants to try to trigger point injections first.

She then brought up that she actually “does Botox” and could do it for me at a discount because it’s unlikely insurance will cover it. Turns out she has a side hustle doing injections (had no idea doctors had time to do side hustles lol). She said she could do the first injection “at cost”. Like literally Venmo her. But of course, Botox will need upkeep and it’s unclear if I will continue to get this discount. She also said there used to be an OB at the office that would do all the vaginal Botox (which was very rare — something like nine times in 20 years) and no one has really stepped in since. I think she actually seemed incentivized for the learning experience alone so she could become the new go-to on that.

Does this situation seem weird? I’m still trying to figure out if insurance would help at all (I couldn’t even get them to come up with a billing code) and like I said, I was the one who brought it up. But it sees wild to get a procedure done in office and then Venmo my doctor for it???
