Better diet/food choices book

Years ago, I read a book about making better food choices. It was written by a female Registered Dietitian or Nutritionist. She included a small list of supplements worth buying in the back of the book.

I had a Goodreads account on Facebook. I can no longer access that list.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I love reading about the science of food.

Gut by Giulia Enders. Review

I bought this book few days ago from a second hand book bookseller. It is originally written in German, translated into English by David Shaw. Now, I've finally picked it up and finished it. I mostly read fiction, but I picked it up because since last two years I suffer from gut issues and secondly, I love the caricature on this book.

The author delve into each topic regarding the gut from Gut's nervous system, gut bacteria to gut feeling and faeces, with great detail and I love how she explains them in such a fun and humorous language.

This book made me realise how little I used to know about the gut and gut-health. The author did used a lot of biological terms but explained them quite simple terms with fun examples. I also liked how she added various research and experiments, making it more interesting.

The author opens with the information of gut being one of the three most important systems of our body including Nervous system and Cardiovascular system. As someone who suffered anxiety because which later lead to gut issues, I find it quite intriguing how interconnected (not sure if this is the correct term) with gut, like how our brain and mood impact the gut as well as how the gut impacts the brain and the mood. My most likes part of the book was the bacteria topic. Also, I love how the book is filled with caricature like the one in the coverpage.

The author also acknowledges how still not much research have been done on the gut, compared to other organs, even though it is one of the most important part of our body. This book was published almost ten years ago, so, it is fascinating to see what has been discovered about the gut in the past years.

But again, sometimes, the issue with the books written on human body is that the research is still going on, so, what used to be believed earlier might be changed now or in the future. But, still there hasn't been that much time. Moreover, the author mentions the source of information and also the reseach studies, and many times how those research was actually done.

well.ca and Australian Gold tinted sunscreen

I love shopping on well.ca

Currently looking at the Australian Gold tinted mineral sunscreen products. Any feedback is appreciated.

I do like tinted mineral sunscreen. If something does not work for my face, I would use it up on hands, arms and maybe legs.

I am pale. MAC NW13ish is my foundation match. (Lightest shade in the drugstore. Naturally cool toned skin.)

I am 60 plus. I wear sunscreen daily unless I know I am staying inside all day.
