new chess update just dropped:

genderfluid pawn - switches what piece it is after every turn. may turn into fairy pieces that aren't in the basegame

fixed a bug that caused players to be able to end the game with near 100% consistency

added some fanmade pieces from the list on chess.com - not the Amazon, though. that was too OP so we're working on a rebalance for it

fixed a bug where pawns would not establish a representative democracy if the post-turn 20 dice rolls rolled a 6 at any point

fixed a bug where the revolution rolls didn't happen (roll a d6 every turn after turn 20, if it lands on a 6 at any point, your pawns establish a representative democracy, making the other player need to take every piece to win)

fixed a bug that made taking the king still end the game during representative democracy, rather than needing to take every piece.

fixed a bug that made 16x16 board, custom start formations and bonus piece types unselectable.

fixed a bug where ammo >!would not appear on the board based on dice rolls after turn 20 (roll 2d8, the result of that as coordinates on the board is where ammo is placed. when a piece has ammo, it can shoot another piece which is anywhere, but the more pieces blocking the sightline from the bottom-middle of the piece shooting to the bottom-middle of the piece being shot, the more d7s you roll (they come with the packs which have The Democracy Hotfix (this hotfix)) with a formula of (n+1)d7, where N is the amount of pieces blocking the sightline. the accuracy check DC depends on the piece. for pawns, it's 6, meaning they must roll a 6 or higher. for knight, it's 4. for rooks, it's 5. for bishops, it's **2**, meaning they hit unless a dice rolls a 1. for queens, it's 3, due to the height. for kings, it's 7, so they must crit success because kings have 0 experience in battle. for queens, however, it's the sightline from the very top to the bottom-middle, to balance things out.)!<

fixed a bug where kings couldn't be taken from the rook's position if they had just castled (the rook moves back to where it was pre-castling, because the other piece just interrupted the castling to take the king)

fixed a bug in representative democracy mode where rooks and bishops couldn't break pieces out of jail (bring back taken pieces) via a d9 skill check with a dc of 6.

fixed a bug where achievements wouldn't unlock new bonus modes and pieces (e.g fog of war mode or the camel piece)

so, hell was made by God in rage and hatred, with arguably malicious intent.

this explains things like calling lucifer its love and threatening him with all the forms of torment that can exist, and many that cannot. that makes more sense if hell isn't *choosing* to express through torment, but its nature doesn't let it *not* do so.

this also holds another implication:

if hell has no choice, that means it could *hate* causing torment and we'd never know, but i think i've found some evidence for it.

1. Deathcatchers. Hell looked at beauty in the idols and tried to recreate it, to make beauty instead of pain for once, only to make a perfect allegory for its situation.

2. yknow how it says "YOU REACHED OUT FOR GOD, AND YOU FELL"? is it just me, or does that make hell seem like it feels like god is the type of person to leave someone for dead? like it feels abandoned and betrayed by god?

1. yet another case of Hell trying to make beauty and failing

2. hell not only let minos continue preventing the suffering in Lust, but GAVE HIM A GIFT, or, at least, tried to. This could also add to Hell feeling betrayed by god, since it doesn't *know* the council doesn't truly represent god's will and likely thinks god wanted minos dead.

4. it feeling betrayed by god would further explain why Lucifer, who was banished by god, is Hell's favourite.
