Factory Farms: The Pig's Story

This is the companion blog post to a recent podcast episode we did about pigs on factory farms. In this post, we stuck to discussing standard practices, and did not get into graphic content, worker abuse, or anything in that realm.

Some of the things we covered in the post are:

  • Pig intelligence, behavior, and habits
  • Lifespan
  • General welfare
  • Living space in the farms
  • Pregnancy and nursing

If you prefer listening rather than reading, you can check out the podcast episode here: https://www.deficientvegans.com/the-pigs-side-of-the-story/

Working out on a budget

You don’t need a lot of equipment to make great progress, especially as a beginner. You can make progress for a long time with nothing other than your bodyweight, but picking up a couple of affordable pieces of equipment can give you a little more variety and help smooth out potential plateaus.

I’m a vegan personal trainer. Ask me anything!

Let me be your vegan personal trainer for the day. If you have any fitness or nutrition questions, drop them in the comments.

Here are some topic ideas for inspiration, but feel free to ask whatever you want:

  • Workout splits
  • Calorie tracking
  • Weight loss strategies
  • Hypertrophy optimization
  • Vegan nutritional concerns
  • Meal and/or protein timing
  • Vegan protein quality concerns

Gym and Lifting Safety

If you're a fan of Final Destination or just a generally paranoid individual, our last podcast episode about Gym Safety will be right up your alley! Weightlifting is actually one of the safest sports you can participate in, but there are still things you can and should do to make sure you stay safe.

Bite Sized Coaching - Ab Work

Since I’m a personal trainer, I thought it might be helpful to start posting bite sized coaching tips on a regular basis. These might be based on questions I’ve had or just general tips and tricks.

We also added a bite sized coaching segment to the Deficient Vegans podcast!
