What to do with non-vegan products?

So, I am a fresh, FRESH vegan, as in just yesterday finally making up my mind and attempting to find good recipes to begin trying that do not include animal products, etc. I was skeptical on the removal of bee byproducts, just because I did not fully understand the methods used to collect honey. Now that I know, I am determined not to buy any more beeswax products! However, about a month or two ago, I did purchase some beeswax wraps to keep my sandwiches in rather than a plastic container. I'm willing to switch to cloth sandwich wraps (or any other more sustainable ways to bring my lunch to work), but I am confused on what I need to do with the former beeswax products, or any other clothing products, etc., that I might need to get rid of (for example, the leather jacket that I thrifted a while back. Do I donate it back? Is there a sustainable way to dispose of it? Should I keep wearing it, since I got it secondhand?). And furthermore, I'm having a difficult time figuring out in general if veganism seems to be against wearing animal products in general, since synthetic materials also seem to be bad for the environment. Any advice or clarification helps!

Help with bacon flavor?

Hi everyone! I'm in the process of trying to eliminate animal products from my diet as much as possible and I've been pretty successful so far, but one thing I've been having difficulty finding a replacement for is bacon bits. I used to use them in a lot of recipes purely for flavor so I don't miss the meat aspect of it, but making the dishes without them has been less than satisfying.

Examples: Greens boiled in veggie broth (used to add bacon bits for some smoky oomph), or coq au vin (I now make it with extra mushrooms instead of chicken but the bacon added a lot of flavor), or stewed potatoes in gravy.

Is there a mix of spices I can add to dishes to get the flavor?

A Vegan CEO. Animal-Free Interiors. And the Rivian R2 Configurator Is Finally Live!

If you’re on a vegan journey like I am, you might appreciate supporting companies that genuinely align with your values, and I honestly think Rivian deserves a serious look.

Their vehicles feature 100% animal-free interiors, sustainable materials, and a strong commitment to reducing environmental impact. Even more interesting to me, CEO RJ Scaringe is vegan himself. Rivian’s R1T and R1S also received PETA’s “REVolutionary Vegan Vehicle” Award for their animal-free interiors and sustainability-focused design.

What excites me most right now is the upcoming Rivian R2, a more affordable next-generation EV designed to bring Rivian’s mission to more people. The configurator is now live, and honestly, the vehicle looks incredible.

As someone who owns an Rivian R1T, I’ve become a huge fan of the company, the mission, and the driving experience. It feels good supporting a brand that is seriously thinking about sustainability, innovation, and moving beyond animal-derived materials in automotive design.

Would genuinely love to see more vegans and environmentally conscious people supporting companies that are helping move the industry in a better direction. And if anyone has questions about owning a Rivian, feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to share my experience as an owner.

Vegan violin

I Wanted to learn violin, but when I started looking to buy violin, I found that it’s very expensive to get a vegan violin even in 2026. I Found a vegan
Violin maker but he was in Europe and he was a very professional guy who is charging about £8000 for making the violin which is very expensive. How should we as vegans deal with this when there are simply no alternatives to some of the products we use. Other examples are the cricket balls and tennis rackets.

Perfectly crisp yellow moong dal dosa made simple.

For South Indians, dosa-making may feel absolutely effortless, but as a North Indian, achieving that perfect crisp texture always seemed quite challenging to me.

This wonderful yellow moong dal dosa recipe truly came to my rescue - skipping the hassle of overnight fermentation and requiring just 1.5–2 hours instead.

It turned out to be an incredible deal, delivering beautifully crisp, delicious, and wholesome dosas with much less effort.

Veganism as a byproduct of self-knowledge (Atmagyan)

Acharya Prashant is a Advait Vedant teacher and an advocate for veganism. His approach to veganism helped me as I was a fence sitter and a meat eater. Transcending is more successful than controlling the urges based on emotions.
