I absolutely love the goofiness of the opening title

It's so cheesy. Just such a delectable time capsule of a simpler time in film with gimmicks like Friday the 13th or Jaws 3D. So many people hate on this and I just think it sets the stage for the entire film. You know when that slash tears the screen open, the film you are about to watch is going to be an odd venture.

All criticism and debates of better writing and missed opportunities aside.. I'm surprised that people just don't appreciate the camp of this 30 second opening.

It's been talked about so many times, yet it's so perplexing.

Like, it's right there!

InGen and capitalism going full evil and creating batch after batch after batch of these poor mutated creatures and the d rex should be the integral point that hits home. When you see their actions on full display.. and thay conflict you have as you root for the humans but understand that this only an animal that is suffering. The parallel to Martin Krebs and the pharma bro who profits off of people's suffering.. it's RIGHT THERE. Cut just 10 minutes of the boyfriend talking to the dad and give SOME exposition of this. Give us a reason to be on that island. If you need the kids, Have the family be on medical transport boats that gets attacked by the mozza. One of the kids has a condition, drive it home. That drives the stakes because we can see how it directly affects human life and Krebs' disgusting capitalist behavior, making the d rex munch down far more rewarding.

My little synopsis here isn't great but it is SOMETHING to drive home just how important life is, both dinosaur and human and really hammer down the villains.

ALSO: THE D-REX LOOKS LIKE HE'S NOT HAVING IT LOL

What is a good writing platform?

Hey Everyone, I am looking for a good writing platform or software that is like an "all in one" if possible but everything I see has a certain artifical thing to it that I absolutely do not want any involvement with. Does anyone have any good recommendations. I apologize if I am posting in the wrong area. If this isn't, could you kindly point me to the right area. Thanks!

Always headache inducing how this movie is hated and the third is considered a better movie, not more entertaining, or preferred by a better move...

This was a full film with a three act structure. It is totally fine if you prefer JP III.. but saying it is a better film as a whole is insanity. That movie doesn't have a finished script. Everyone harps on the Kelly gym kicking raptor scene, but we are just cool with the military ending with the militarized Jurassic Park score variation.. we're good with that?!

Of course this movie is flawed. All the sequels are, but this film has some of the most iconic moments of the franchise. It feels like a Spielberg movie because it actually is one.

The T-Rex in San Diego scene is fine. Do not understand the gripe. It was fun.

Sarah is dumb in this movie, but I like that she is dumb.. she is a hot head in her field that cracked by the amazement of seeing dinosaurs. Her awe overcame her expertise.

Nick and Roland were extremist opposits of the same coin. They both were wrong for opposite reasons. It is literally one of the most interesting character dynamics in the entire franchise.

Eddie is a treasure. I don't think anyone disagrees with that.

Kelly is fine! Spielberg loves his silly ass kid hero moments. It was cheese. I love it.

The atmosphere was darker, grimmer, and more horror focused - which makes perfect sense, considering Jurassic Park is supposed to be the front facing cosmetic view of things whole The Lost World is the reality.

I LOVE how complicated and blurred the characters are in this. There really isn't any human heroes that live. Malcolm is the closest, obviously.

The raptors, and their feral versions.

The Rexes and their mature parenting versions.

That one black dude who hilariously screams at the screen while a raptor jumps him. Chef's kiss!

It's a solid film, and excellent sequel, and though not perfect.. purists REALLY need to stop thr "but it doesn't have the magic of the first one" nothing will. Ever. Lightning in a bottle, people. Allow sequels to be different. When you try the same formula everytime.. you get the Jurassic World films and their greatest flaw was not allowing themselves to be unique.

BTW: I do like JP III, it's fun cheese with actually good sfx and stunning animatronics.

TL:DR Great sequel with overlooked character dynamics, overseen human error as part of the point of the story, a necessary sense of peeling the face off the dream state of the park to show what the reality was really like. A flawed but fantastic film. The hate it gets is blasphemous. JP III is also fine.

Anyone else getting forced into paying for Express for certain places?

The new layout offers everything but when I select the Standard option, it just defaults to "Select Delivery Method" and only when you select Express, does it actually let you check out.

Not sure if it's a bug or Doordash being Doordash.

Just realized Jurassic Park III has it's 25th anniversary this year

Crazy to think about. I remember how pumped I was for this movie. At the time, I remember the black background mo ie poster was more popular and widely available to purchase and it totally confused the hell out of me because I dug the shadow on metal look.
