Need design advice - big mistake made

I started a full-leg sleeve with an artist. The collage of finished tattoos is the vibe I was going for (done by other artists, Kirsten Holliday and Savannah Treviño, not my artist) — botanical stuff, muted colors, skin breaks between all the stuff. Somehow, my artist forgot and thought we were coloring in the background (which is all of the black and dark teal on my leg) — she initially had that vision when I proposed the sleeve to her and must’ve forgotten we decided to NOT do that 🙃 At my session yesterday, I was laying in my stomach for 2 hours, and unbeknownst to me, she shaded in all that dark background. Sigh. I had no idea. I was in shock when I saw it and didn’t say anything very direct at the time (her kid was there so it felt extra weird), and what’s done was done, anyway! So we basically stopped there for the day.

I’m seeking advice on what to do now. I am definitely not going to commit to all of my leg being shaded in, that’s not what I wanted at all. I know this part can’t be undone, so does anyone have ideas on how to make it look intentional? How to somehow fade it out from there so that the rest of the leg having no background doesn’t look mismatched? Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

(I didn’t credit the artist I’m working with because it was just a mistake, I don’t want to drag her name, so I hope that’s okay)

So I feel like I’m kind of screwed…

Probably an amateur question…

My cat recently passed and I wanted to make a ring with her ashes. I have a ring with another cat’s ashes set in resin, but after 6-ish years, I can tell it’s not the best “forever” material for this memorial piece. I’ve seen glass blowers create small beads and set them in rings, but I haven’t seen any that I like and can afford (I want it set in a gold or gold-filled ring), so I began to wonder if I might be able to set it myself. I’ve seen empty “ring mounts” online for affordable prices. If I had a bead made to size, would there be a permanent way to set a flat-backed glass bead into it? This is too important to me to just fuck around and find out, so I appreciate any advice! Thanks in advance!

Engagement gift idea?

My girlfriend and I are planning to propose to one another soon. My engagement ring costs a few thousand dollars more than hers, because she doesn’t want a big rock. Because of that, I wanted to do something special and get her a really nice gift along with getting engaged. Previously, she said she wanted a Rolex someday, so I was planning to find a pre-owned Rolex for a few thousand dollars and surprise her with that. Today, out of *nowhere*, she randomly said she no longer wants one because it’s materialistic and she’d probably only wear it a couple times a year because it’s so expensive. Soooo now I’m not sure what to do! She is sort of back and forth about stuff, so I guess I should’ve have been shocked haha. She’s a masculine lesbian, so she doesn’t carry a purse or wear other jewelry (which is what I initially think of in response to “expensive gift”).

Does anyone have any other ideas for a nice engagement gift worth $2000-3000? My brain is short circuiting because my mind was just on the Rolex! Haha.

Proposal spot advice - Dayton Parks

I’m planning to propose to my girlfriend in the next year. She appreciates nature, so I was thinking I’d pick a park in the Dayton area. My first choice is the Siebenthaler Fen boardwalk in Beavercreek. Can anyone tell me what the greenery looks like throughout the year? I’m considering doing it in the Fall or Spring time, but I don’t want everything to be dead lol. When does it look alive? Also, I’ve only ever visited on a weekday, and I’d probably have to do it on a weekend. Does it ever get crowded at that park? Thanks in advance for any info and recs!

ATIA for caring about these superficial things?

My partner and I (in our 20’s) have been dating for a few years. Over time we’ve both gotten more “comfortable” of course, as we should, but I’m bothered by some things about how my partner presents themself. For example, there was a stretch of time they wouldn’t wear deoderant on the weekends if we were staying home. No, they weren’t stinky in public, but they were stinky around me, and that gave me the impression that they didn’t care about “impressing me” anymore (but I mean, deoderant is a lot bar). We talked about it and they wear deoderant now, but there are other things about their self care and such that bother me. Another thing is the clothes they wear these days. They specifically remind me of my dad’s clothes, and therefore elicit the opposite of romantic feelings haha. My dad wasn’t a stylish guy, so it also fits in the bucket of feeling like they don’t care to impress me or “try” anymore. I’ve expressed this in a variety of ways, and they seem to understand, but they don’t seem interested in trying any different clothing, etc. In contrast, I put a lot of effort in my appearance and pay attention to what they mention liking on me, so I can wear it more. I feel like such a superficial bitch for caring about these things, but I do. So, I think I probably am the asshole, but thought I’d put out feelers in case I’m being too hard on myself.
