Does NUST give you any confirmation after the fees is paid for processing an online application? I've applied and they told me to wait for an admit card but I don't see the test dates. Can someone help me if I've over-looked something and missed it?
reddit.comUrgent help required for admission: SSC results (IBCC Equivalence) coming after NUST admission closes. What do I do in the application where it asks for my equivalence? (Karachi branch)
I need some advice from anyone who may have gone through this. I'm applying to BSCS, but the admission closes on 8TH and my IBCC equivalence comes out later, after the 20TH and I have the case code + barcode provided by IBCC. Unfortunately we couldn't get it done last year due to being unaware at the time.
I know I should calculate my equivalence but my problem is, I took Additional Mathematics and dropped Biology, then I took English Literature. The people at IBCC office said they'd give me computer science equivalence, but I'll have to take Humanities as my A level HSSC equivalence, which isn't an issue for me since I already have Mathematics + Computer Science in A levels. Given this fact, I'm unsure how to actually calculate my equivalence regarding the rules where Literature isn't counted.
Any help or advice is welcome as admissions close in 3 days. I have every document ready, but my SSC is the only main thing causing issues.
My observation on the Cambridge system in regards to the recent leaks.
I have noticed nothing can be truly done unless:
Majority of the people paying for Cambridge goes against it by a boycott. Not just a boycott by reputation, but a boycott that brings their revenue down.
We as students raise our voice, just how this situation got to the news. Bring down their social standing and credibility.
The students and people leaking the papers are punished.
If anything, we all are aware that Cambridge may care about reputation, but it's very obvious nothing will be done if their revenue keeps coming in.
Every single year, people pay Cambridge the money (mostly parents) because we all know how valuable these grades are for Universities and can even be a ticket to a good university, which fuels this desire to opt for A levels and O levels rather than local boards.
With that said, this is just what I've observed. I do believe nothing can be done unless people stop paying for the MJ and ON sessions, which definitely isn't something you can agree on overnight and needs careful consideration given the risks at the moment of Cambridge actually changing and taking measures or not.
Apart from this, I do believe in Cambridge needing to be transparent with us. They should definitely at the very least have some kind of social consequence for people leaking the papers, so the people who might want to leak more, know about them. Now, this is not limited to: Revealing their identity, or switching them to another board, or a massive penalty.
