i’m always amazed by what cis people dont know

with how often trans people are talked about in politics and in media part of me expects cis people to have some understanding of why and how people transition

but again and again im shocked at how often they dont know what HRT is, or theyve never heard of gender dysphoria. a lot of them seem to think we just decide to change clothes one day for fun

idk, maybe if they understood even the basics we wouldnt be so bad off

my new doctor wrote my prescription wrong 🫩

i have been taking the same dose of estradiol since highschool, 4 mg twice daily for 8 mg total.

i just started seeing a new doctor near my university and she wrote my prescription as:

« Take 1 tablet (2 mg total) by mouth 2 (two) times a day. 8mg total daily »

she accidentally wrote 1 tablet instead of 2 and now because of that my prescription ran out twice as fast as it was supposed to, the pharmacy wont refill it, and she isnt responding on the health portal. if i wanna do telehealth (which i will since i live 600 km away from my university) i have to wait until monday

and ofc my testosterone has been nuked forever, but now so is my estrogen, and i just feel so tired

ive been on the exact same prescription for so many years like seriously, why r we making this a problem for me now. 🫠

i saw my dad liking pro-trans posts on linkedin

i was stalking my dads linkedin likes (as one does when your dad is famous on linkedin) and i saw him liking trans day of visibility and other similar posts.

it made my day, i dont know why it surprised me, ive been out as trans since i was 11 and hes never been anything but supportive, but it made me very happy to know how openly supportive he is, even on linkedin

how do you all feel about pride month/do you « feel queer »?

ive had a lot of conflicting feelings about this myself so im curious what everyone else feels

i asked once on r/lgbt if trans counted as queer and got really divided opinions there, a lot of people said that being trans wasnt inherently queer and that to be straight trans stealth etc isnt queer

for myself ive kind of felt that i have lived/do live the life of a « normal » straight woman, i dont really feel that sort of connection to my identity, so in that case it feels kind of like its not for me

and yet at the same time i feel like its something i deserve to have, like i deserve my spot in pride month even though for the rest of my life i dont feel it

basically i dont want to be told that i AM queer but i also dont wanna be told that im NOT queer

im curious how you all feel
