Hey team,

I know one no one probably cares, but I wanted to vent.

The Tony Hinchcliffe special is the worst stand up I’ve ever seen. I think he’s genuinely very bad for this art form. I don’t even know what to call what he just did. Calling it stand up would be like calling a drowned man a swimmer.

As a comedian, and someone who is part of our community, I feel responsible to apologize. We clearly let something fake become an ugly truth.

That's not a stand up comedian. That's a cosplayer. A jaundiced Simon Cowell. A walking, swollen liver. A gland we gave a voice. Dunning-Kruger incarnate walking in circles.

The fact that we let that horsed tooth, tanning bed flea have a ounce of influence is truly embarrassing for fans. But more for the industry and the comics who lied and told this man he was a comedian worthy of judging others.

His special has the tact of hitting someone over the head with a 2 x 4. In a delicate art form where nuance, brevity, and humanity allow us to reach people in a space of taboo; this human vest performs intricate procedure with a hatchet.

I have never seen someone so definitively fit the mold of a hack.

He is a taste maker in stand up whether you like it or not. We let him put himself in a position where he judges others in something he cannot do.

It's societal level gaslighting. We've told our ourselves that Tony Hinchcliffe is a stand-up comedian, and a lot of cowards sold the lie so you could ride that sickly coattail for a few more followers. So many comics I still respect swallow what must be a gross feeling so they can benefit from a man who has utterly bastardized something they claim to respect.

For those benefitting from Little Tony, I truly feel sorry for you. That's the ring you chose to kiss. And if you can’t see it rot, you’re worse than he is.

Only thing worse than him believing in himself are those deluding him by lending this vampire their talent.

You truly should be ashamed of yourselves.

I love stand up comedy. I’m sorry people have tried to convince the masses that Little Tony speaks for stand ups or even knows what he’s talking about. He is not one of us. Whatever he is, whatever that was, I’m not a part of that.
