Captain for second season- trying to find rhyme or reason to batting order and field roles

So last season our team was a disaster. Like 4 people got injured and people had to drop and we wound up only having 8 people on the team. We always had to borrow a catcher and could never have an extra man in the outfield. It was a struggle, but we got through the season. To be clear, we are not a great team and are in our town's B league (the lowest league we have).

This season I was able to recruit some great talent and we now have a team of 16 people. As a captain I'm trying to make sure everyone gets enough playing time and plays the positions they want, but also want to do a better job with the lineup and deciding where people play.

My wife is very into baseball, so she has been giving me tips on batting order and I have a rough idea of "go with two or three base hitters and then a power hitter to get them home". I tried that this past game and it worked well! Question - do you guys always have the same roster or do you shake it up and move it around?

In terms of field positions, I have no idea what to do. We have a decent pitcher (need a backup) and someone who will play catcher for now, but I need some advise on what to do for other positions. Wife has said first and third should be big guys since that's who people look for and we need a good target. In our league, it seems like almost every hit is deep to left so I feel like we need to focus on getting our best guys out in that area and limit the bleeding. Are there any other suggestions people might have for how to manage the players? Again we're pretty new so I'm trying to get a feel of what to do but also want to make sure one guy doesn't just sit in the outfield the whole game. Should I break people up into outfield and infield and just have them rotate based around that?

Open to any thoughts or suggestions. Also we are using gamechanger but it's the basic version so I can't set lineups or anything like that since the admin side is managed by the town.

My biggest gripe with searching for different radio models is the lack of clear progression of model numbers

I feel like this is especially relevant with the big 3 and on HF rigs. I know this is a silly rant...

Yaesu FT-891? Cool that came out in 2016. Oh there is another model FT-897? Surely that came out after it and has better features. What? It actually came out in 2001??

Hmm okay well here is the FT-900, clearly that has to be a new generation. Nope, came out in 1994.

Alright alright maybe it's just Yaesu, let's check Kenwood.

Ok so the TS-890s came out in 2018, I see there is a 990s. Maybe that came out after with more features? Nope, 990s came out in 2012.

I understand that these guys obviously can't keep the same model number throughout over 50+ years of radios, but some sort of semblance of a progression of model numbers would have been great. Half the radios that I browse to try and find out more about are from before when I was born so I'm not going to know "well yeah, the TS2000 was a flagship model of it's time but for a little less you could've gotten the TS570D" or something like that.

I basically have to go to Rigpix to see the models sorted by name and then bounce back and forth between the years to see roughly what came out at each time.

Blades after 152 hours, 640k sqft, 14.7 acres, Bermuda grass

Been mowing semi-regularly, 2 or 3 times a week. I have Bermuda grass and weeds lol. I don't mow my whole lawn every few days. These are stats from about April timeframe. Blades are quite dull now but are still cutting. If I have to replace once a season I think that seems like a good deal for me.

Just wanted to post as a data point for others.

Just wanna confirm before I go get spray 🦀

95% sure this is crabgrass. Has unfortunately taken over most of Bermuda yard. Hoping I can hit it with some Quinclorac to kill it off in a few weeks

For years I've thought my photos were just not crisp enough. Turns out I just have Astigmatism

Thought this might give people a laugh. I've been taking photos as a hobbyist over the last decade or so, be it with my phone or my photography equipment. I've always looked at the photos on a bigger screen and gone "man these are close, but I just see a little bit of fuzziness that I can't seem to shake. Lens must need an adjustment. Oh well".

Friends would look at photos and tell me they look great, I just figured they weren't pixel peeping as much as me.

Had an eye appointment for the first time in years and come to find out I have mild Astigmatism. Finally get some glasses and figure I'll check out my old photos. Sharp as a tack. Haha

TL;DR: Updated my Eye OS. Pics are fine

6m dipole with no balun. Think it'll be fine for vhf contest?

I had tried one with a poorly wound choke cable and it was all over the place. This seems to behave much better. Think it's fine for 100w ssb for the contest for a weekend?

Anyone planning on operating in the ARRL June VHF Contest? What's your strategy?

Just want to know if anyone is planning on operating in this contest. I've got a discone antenna I can probably put at 15', and maybe an efhw up about 20'. Will probably only be able to operate on 6m, 2m, and 440. I think unless I can figure out another rig I will probably only have FM on 2m and 440.

What are your tips and tricks to have a fun time?

Participating in ARRL Digital contest without FT8/4 sure is a challenge

And who thought it'd be a good idea to have a PSK31 contest the same exact weekend? At least it's bringing other people to the bands.

Anyone else giving the contest a shot using other digital modes? Goes until 2359 tonight.

This is just supplementary pictures for our wedding photographer. These are not supposed to be memory making, perfect amazing photos. I asked if she was fine shooting a roll on my film camera throughout the day and she said she wouldn't mind. I have a Canon EOS 10S and a Tamron 24-70 F2.8 that I'll set her up with. Hopefully the auto focus and most auto settings will do fine.

I'm curious which film would produce the most natural looking pictures with sharpest grain quality. Preference is to give one of the color rolls first and if that runs out, swap to the B&W after. Any thoughts or opinions?

I believe that unfortunately all film pictured is expired. The superia on the left I'm not sure on (likely 2023), the 200 color is late 2025, the C200 is may 2025, and the Ilford is November of 2022.
