Quick update for those moving to EDF

I've moved from EON to EDF.

Made the switch Friday morning, by Tuesday I was fully moved over for gas and electric but placed on a standard variable tariff, by Wednesday I was on the Go electric.

Very impressed.

I've now applied to switch for SEG which I believe others have discussed how long that can take but that all payments are back dated.

Well done EDF

Breast fed / co slept /18m

Our 3rd child is 18m old and has been breast fed and co slept with mum whilst I've been managing the other 2. Eldest is a good sleeper, middle child - not so great.

My wife has recently started a new job which works some unsociable hours from time to time and she can sometimes work away, so it's come to a head and we need to sort his sleep out as putting 3 kids to be is taking hours when on my own and is not enjoyable at all.

The older two go to bed fine, so just need to sort the youngest out.

His lunch time naps are absolutely fine and he is awake from between 6/7am and then naps between 12-1pm for 2-3 hours.

He then goes to bed with a nice routine in the evening at circa 7pm.

What are the suggestions to start sleep training? We did ferber with the other two with varying levels of success, but open to other suggestions.

Morning all,

I wrote to post yesterday about getting a second car and wasn't sure whether to go for a small car or a large car. We already have a Kia e Niro which is fantastic and we love it. However, we are a family of five with children aged 1, 5, and 7. So squeezing the three of them in the back row is tight to say the least.

We've modified the boot to make it bigger by removing the false floor which helped a lot. However, my wife is now getting a second job after being made redundant and I think it makes sense that the next EV that we buy is bigger than the eNiro.

We can stretch the budget to £15k.

Requirements for the car:

  1. Big interior space, especially in the back row

  2. Big boot, as we still use a pram for the youngest

  3. Decent range, by decent. I mean 250 plus real world summer 200 plus real world winter

  4. Good charging speeds when we do long trips in the eNiro with the family. The charging spades are frustrating because it does mean we have to sit around for quite a while

Look online. Points me towards an ionic 5 or skoda enyak or vw id4 or Tesla model S ( Y appears to be out of budget).

Is there anything else that I should be considering? And is there anyone out there with real world experience and what can you share?

Hi,

So we are in the market for a 2nd EV. We currently have a Kia e-niro which has been amazing and we'll probably keep it until it dies.

My wife after being made redundant has got a job which will require a bit of travel so we need a 2nd car.

We have 3 kids and whilst we all just about get into the Kia it's a squeeze.

Now the budget is tight, circa £10k with a small but of flex upwards.

Do we go for a small run around for her to use for work e.g. a Zoe/ id3 / Kona

Or do we get something bigger like a model s (75) or Skoda enyaq/ID4 as the family car and use the Kia as the wife's work car?

The model S/ enyaq are quite high mileage, does anyone have any experiences or watch outs with these models?
