Skincare routine for a beginner?

F32 looking for advice getting started with a skincare routine, literally no clue where to start. The redness/spots on one cheek is due to papulopustular rosacea which is being managed by my gp.

The only thing I currently do is put moisturiser on after I have a shower

I think I have combination (?) skin with areas that are dry and areas that are oily

I have two children under 3 so I’m looking for some manageable self care that isn’t going to take hours out of my hectic day

I’m also breastfeeding if that’s relevant to any skincare products

Thanks in advance!

Producing the second language

Hi all! My son is 2y10m and is half English half Portuguese. We live in England. Since birth my husband (Portuguese) has spoken to him only in Portuguese (OPOL).
I understand Portuguese but don’t speak it, but husband never has to switch to English to ‘include’ me because I understand what is being said
My son very clearly understands Portuguese well: responds appropriately to questions and instructions, will translate what is said to him in Portuguese into English.

He says a handful of Portuguese words (some things he only says in Portuguese). I would guess maybe 20 words. He is quite verbal in English and says 3-4 word sentences.

How do we actually get him speaking Portuguese rather than just passively understanding? We have a couple we are friends with who are English/french with the dad being French. Their 10yo understands French but does not speak it. I would be very sad if my son wasn’t able to produce Portuguese (some of his family members don’t speak or understand English)

Is this normal at his age for English to completely dominate? Will it improve just by continuing OPOL? Or is there something we can change/encourage?

Student loan company refund refused

I received an email from the Student Loans Company informing me that I was due a refund as I had overpaid (I’ve had two maternity leaves very close together).

I’ve checked my P60s against the SLC income thresholds for the relative tax years, and I have actually overpaid every year since 2021:

Tax Year Earned (P60) Plan 2 Threshold Income Above Threshold Correct 9% Liability Actual SLC Deductions Overpayment Status
21/22 £10,931.76 £27,295 £0.00 £0.00 £22.00 Overpaid by £22.00
22/23 £29,171.89 £27,295 £1,876.89 £168.92 £446.00 Overpaid by £277.08
23/24 £27,665.00 £27,295 £370.00 £33.30 £442.00 Overpaid by £408.70
24/25 £23,845.13 £27,295 £0.00 £0.00 £103.00 Overpaid by £103.00
25/26 £21,766.22 £28,470 £0.00 £0.00 £65.00 Overpaid by £65.00

(Forgive the table formatting unsure if this will work from mobile)

I received a further email after requesting my refund saying k was entitled to £168, which just reflected the 24/25 and 25/26 tax years. I asked about the 22/23 and 23/24 tax years where I had significantly overpaid. I was told that because my income was over the threshold, even if I significantly overpaid compared to my earnings, I am not entitled to a refund for those years. Has anyone had any luck disputing this? The 23/24 tax year I only earned £370 over the threshold yet paid £442 in SLC deductions

Toddler broke this sentimental clock, help me replace it!

My toddler broke this clock belonging to my childhood best friend's mother. She's very upset, it has a lot of sentimental value. I desperately want to replace it for her but cannot for the life of me find it!

I know she's had it 20+ years. Purchased in the West Midlands in the UK (I believe). Reverse image search brings up an (ended) auction, a prop sales company (they declined to sell it to me when I contacted them) and an obscure Instagram image (another friend messaged the account and received no reply).

Clever people of reddit, can you find this clock?
