Hi, so I’ve applied to an English taught HBO data science masters program at HAN university of applied sciences. I mainly chose it because I have some relevant background knowledge from my pre-masters program and because a part time program with a smaller study load is best for my current life situation right now. However, I heard some bad things about HAN and HBO degrees, mainly that they’re not real university degrees, that their programs are poorly managed etc. Is it worth pursuing an HBO program on data science as a foreign student who can’t speak Dutch well? (I’m currently taking Dutch lessons to fix this). How good (or bad) are the job prospects of this type of degree? If anyone has taken this program or something similar before I’d love to know what it’s like during or after studying.

Today I was at my local Albert heijn and I was trying to withdraw money from the Geldmaat ATM there. However, because I was in a rush and I wasn’t thinking straight, I forgot to take the cash with me. It was 750€… the people at the store said that there’s camera footage of a guy taking the money but they can’t identify him due to poor video quality. They said it’s only possible if the police gets hold of the footage of the small camera that’s directly on the ATM machine. The company of the ATM also said that the money indeed was taken. From what I’ve heard cases like these rarely get solved or paid attention to. Now, I’d understand it if was a small amount of money or if I accidentally dropped my money outside with no evidence but I’m having a hard time believing why such a case would most likely be dismissed. Other than contacting the bank in my home country, showing them the police report and disputing the transaction, is there anything else I can do?
