Update on prev post - false positive??? v confused

Pool tested my parents (they’re visiting me for the weekend) with Pluslife and virus.sucks, and one curve amplified so I thought it caught an early positive - see photo #1. However, I then tested them each individually and both tests really seemed negative (the yellow line in the third photo looks like air bubble to me) - see photos #2 and #3.

Has anyone experienced anything like this and/or have insight into why it might have happened?? Ugh :( I’m gonna retest tomorrow morning and hopefully that’ll give a clear result, but I feel sooooo confused and frustrated!

— UPDATE —
My mom tested clear positive on PL as well as rapid test today :(((( so it was not a false positive actually which is reassuring in terms of PL reliability but ugh I’m worried about her and sad my parents’ visit got cut short.

Woah I just caught my first positive after 1.5 yrs of using PL

Obvi not grateful for the positive test (it’s one of my parents, tbd which yet, nervous for them 😭) but wow I’m so grateful the Pluslife test with virus.sucks caught an early positive and protected me and my partner from getting covid from them.

I’ve been testing people before hanging indoors for a year and a half now and never caught a positive on PL before, and part of me was like man I’m spending so much money for what feels like no reason (even though I know it’s a very good reason!) - but now the reason manifests before my very eyes. Very very grateful to have access to this technology.

— UPDATE —

As chronicled in another post, I subsequently tested each of my parents on PL that same day and got negatives in both cases, which I found confusing and made me worried it was somehow a false positive. However, I re tested them both individually the day after, and my mom was positive :( so it was a true positive. I also rapid tested them the same day and day after, and they were negative the same day but my mom’s positive the day after. So the PL did indeed catch a true early positive and may have prevented me from getting sick!!

Forgot to push the button and shake the card ughhh

Does that make the result not reliable automatically? Or as long as the control amplifies properly is it ok??

Research on safety of mask “airlock method” to eat/drink indoors?

“Airlock method” = holding breath, quickly pulling mask down, taking quick sip/bite, putting mask back on asap, exhaling forcefully to clear out the air that entered the mask while it was down

I feel like I remember someone posting a while ago about some kind of research/info about how safe or unsafe this was - does anyone remember that and could link me, or have other relevant resources on this to share? Thanks!

My context here is that I occasionally do this to take sips, like at a coffee shop for example, and am unsure how much of a risk it is.

In search of covid risk anecdata

I'm curious about getting some anecdotal data about what situations have led covid cautious people to end up catching covid. Very sorry to everyone who's had that happen, sending you all best wishes.

Feeling conflicted / considering relaxing some precautions

I know this probably won’t be a popular post here but I’m feeling sad and isolated and am wondering how worth it my extensive precautions are. I’m wondering if anyone else is feeling this way, or has any research that might directly inform my feelings on this. Feel free to not read this if that’s not your cup of tea, and I would love some understanding replies rather than angry or holier than thou ones, even though I would understand where such replies were coming from.

Covid is really bad obviously and we should have good public health measures and everyone should be masking in places like the bus and the doctors office and the grocery store and stuff. But I’m feeling increasingly at a breaking point with masking and Pluslifing within my personal life and how hard it makes friendships and community. I’m 26, I didn’t really have an adult life before this, and to be completely honest I don’t 100% buy that Covid is exactly as extremely-dangerous as it used to be. Also the way i treat Covid as a health threat is totally different than the way i approach other health threats in my life - I‘ve had lots of concussions but I don’t go around wearing a helmet all the time because of the small risk I could get another; Lyme disease is bad but I don’t cover every last inch of skin whenever I’m in a nature area; yknow?

I sort of want to start hanging out with one or a couple friends indoors without masking or pluslifing, it just feels like such a small risk relative to the other risks I could be taking. But I don’t know how to decide or risk assess since it all feels so up to individual judgment - i feel like anyone can use any research to justify any approach, extremely cautious to extremely not. And I also fear judgment from other covid cautious friends & community members.

Wondering if anyone else is having feelings like these and how they’re navigating / thinking through them. As i said at the beginning pls refrain from replying if you’re just feeling mad at me for saying this, it’ll save us both some grief.

▲ 1 r/ADHD

Has anyone else experienced shortness of breath & chest tightness from guanfacine, and did you continue the medication / did that side effect go away over time? I’m having that and am feeling worried, especially since the internet seems to say this side effect is very concerning. But I’ve been feeling incredible psychological benefits for my anxiety and ADHD, so I really want it to work for me and am willing to push through some initial unpleasantness in order to keep those benefits. Obvi I’m going to get in touch with my psych about it but just curious if anyone else has had this side effect and was able to continue taking it.

Has anyone rented from Paradise City Properties before or know anything (good or bad) about them? Can’t find any reviews or much legit info at all about them online including on Reddit, so wanted to check here. TIA for any info!

(I know someone else posted about this same question on this subreddit 6 months ago, but that post is archived so I can’t comment, and the only comment on it was from someone who seems from their profile like a troll or a scammer - so thought I’d ask again)
