Absolute nightmare!

Not asking for help necessarily, but wanted to vent more than anything.
Had my Ender 5 plus for a few years now, and never really had many major issues with it. A few replaced bearings and wheels and stuff, but nothing mega.

Well last night, I was 12 hours into a 16 hour print, and out of no where, the wire going into my hot end to the thermistor has broke, so the printer thinks the hotend is at -15c and killed everything.

Very frustrating to say the least. I've been debating other all metal hot ends, and even Microswiss, but given I've been fine with stock, I think I'm just going to replace with stock.

Then I thought (stupidly) I'd need to unplug it all from the main board, so I've got the printer on it's side to get the bottom plate off, the plate drops, and pulls the pads off the board inside the little 40mm fan on the bottom case. So now I also have to replace that.

Only to find, that you don't unplug from the board, there's separate connectors after the board, so that was a pointless move.

I was doing all this at 7am this morning after finding it failed overnight, so I just wasn't thinking straight.

I've also since found the replacement hotend kit with a new cable doesn't include the BLTouch cable, so I've got to extract that out of my current braided cabling so I can swap it over.

In the middle of pretty big project my friend has commissioned me to make them something, and now it's all on hold while I wait for new parts and get it back up and running.
All very annoying!

Wish me luck!

Earrings I made for a friend

Originally posted as a comment on one of my other posts, but I'm so proud of how they came out, couldn't resist putting them in their own post.

First time making earrings!

Also did some simple skeleton keys for the wife to wear, but surprise surprise she wants some of the other ones now haha.

Think I've created myself a job here...

P.s. not selling, just proud of my little self.

Getting festival ready for APE!

Couldn't find a baseball cap I liked, so ended up making my own.

Also, never been to a festival before, and I'm ultra paranoid of either pickpockets, or dropping stuff, so I made my (knock-off) ridge wallet have a loop on it I can add a chain to, and couldn't resist theming it in the process!

My next project is making some TOP earrings for my wife and our friend who's joining us at APE.
If they turn out alright, I'll post an update, as I've never made any earrings before, could go horrendously!

BTW, I'm not (currently) making anything to sell, I'm just posting cos I'm kind proud of my creations 😊. Hope you guys like them!

p.s. the weirdness on the wallet is because I was impatient. I got thermal runaway on my UV resin from doing too thick of a pour. Yes I'm mad, yes I might redo it down the line and do less at once. Just incase anyone was wondering why it looked a bit weird.

I'm so excited, I'm going to All Points East

I know no one will care, but when the show first got announced I REALLY wanted to go. I love the band, and have never seen them, but I really couldn't justify the money.

I've also never been to a festival and assumed it would be a shorter set, and not worth the money, given I've literally never heard of any of the other acts.

Well after seeing the predicted run-time, I've had a change of heart, decided to just ignore the money side of things, which I hate myself for, but I've done it, I've bought tickets, and I'm so freaking excited.

I've had such a hard time lately, life's really been a struggle, so I really wanted to treat myself. But I do feel guilty, as paying this much money for 1 day is realistically taking away from a potential family holiday next year, which just seems like such a selfish thing to do, but I think I need this.

Sorry I know this is a weird thing to just post out there in the open, as lots of people are going, but after months of putting it off and finally changing my mind on this now, I just wanted to share with someone (anyone that wants to listen).

Hope it's as amazing as I think it will be, see you crazy guys there!

For someone with like zero artistic abilities, quite pleased with the outcome of this 3D print/paint job

For info, not my 3D model. Printed/painted for my little girl's newly decorated bedroom
