I ported Smash Melee to the original Xbox.

melee is such a nostalgic game for me, so it's honestly amazing to see it running on the original xbox. this isn't an emulator, it's built to run natively on the xbox hardware. of course we had to do the release test on the CRT, wouldn't feel right any other way.

it's fully playable with 4 players and rumble, supports 480i, 480p and 720p, and saves use the gamecube .gci format so you can bring your dolphin saves over.

you'll need a modded xbox and your own copy of the game

let me know what you guys think and if you run into any issues. happy to answer questions in the comments

I got Animal Crossing running natively on a Sega Dreamcast. On real hardware.

This is a native Sega Dreamcast port of Animal Crossing — not an emulator, not a stream. It's built from the GameCube decompilation

Everything you see is on a stock retail Dreamcast with 16 MB of RAM, booting off a burned CD-R. The GameCube had 24 MB and a hardware T&L GPU; the Dreamcast has neither, so the entire vertex transform and lighting pipeline runs on the CPU and every texture gets re-encoded for the PowerVR.

Hoping to have this ready for release in a few weeks.

Animal Crossing running natively on the Anbernic RG-34XX SP — no emulator (muOS/PortMaster)

That's the actual GameCube Animal Crossing running as a native app on the RG-34XX SP — no Dolphin. It's built from the decompilation project (credit to ACreTeam, flyngmt and Dia2809), so the game runs straight on the handheld's CPU. Pocket town you can check in on anywhere, real saves, and your old Dolphin save imports if you have one.

To try it:

  1. Grab the zip from https://github.com/GabeConway/OpenCrossing-Anbernic/releases
  2. Unzip it onto your SD card
  3. Add your own dumped copy of the game (USA) — no game files included, ever
  4. Launch from Ports

Early release (v0.1.0) means some rough edges, so save often. Bug reports welcome on GitHub!

EDIT - Release v0.3.0 runs at 50-60 fps.
