Has anyone else had issues submitting their German citizenship application through the Hamburg online portal?
I've completed the entire application, uploaded all the required documents, and every mandatory field is filled in. But when I get to the final step (submitting the application and paying the fee), I always get an error saying: "The data could not be transferred."
I've already called the hotline a couple of times. They suggested trying a different browser and disabling my ad blocker, but I've tried all of that and the same error still appears.
Has anyone experienced this before or found a solution? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I'm using this portal:
Moin moin,
I'm considering applying for a sailmaker (Segelmacher) apprenticeship in Germany, and I'd love to hear from people who work in the industry or have experience with this job.
At the moment I work as an graphic designer, but I'm thinking about changing careers because I enjoy making things with my hands and creating high-quality products. Agh im also 35 F if thats relevant.
I found an apprenticeship where the work includes sewing sails, boat covers (Persenninge), cushions, sun protection products, making patterns, cutting materials, and sometimes visiting customers to take measurements.
I have a few questions:
Is this a good career with a stable future in Germany?
Is it easy to find a job after finishing the apprenticeship?
What is the salary like after the apprenticeship and after a few years of experience?
Is there room to grow professionally or specialize?
Is the work interesting and varied, or does it become repetitive?
If you could choose again, would you still become a sailmaker?
Thank you in advance for your insights 😊
My 7 year old Podenco Lola had a vestibular episode two weeks ago. She recovered really well overall. She eats normally, plays, walks fine outside, and can climb outdoor stairs up and down without problem.
The issue is our indoor staircase. We live on the 5th floor with no elevator. The staircase is steep, open on the sides, and made of concrete. She climbs up fine but completely freezes at the top when going down. She won't attempt a single step.
I think part of the problem is I once tried to guide her down when she wasn't ready and it scared her. Now she has a fear memory attached to this specific staircase on top of her vestibular recovery.
I've tried placing towels and mats on the steps for grip. I've tried starting from the bottom steps only. I've tried treats and harness support. Today she sat down on a step and froze completely, head tilted, refusing to move.
Her head tilt is still noticeable which tells me her vestibular system is still healing.
Has anyone dealt with this combination of vestibular recovery plus stair fear? What actually worked for your dog? How long did it take?
We have a trip coming up in one week and her caretaker cannot carry her down 5 floors. Any practical advice welcome.
