OpenRouter is Joining Stripe

Fun while it lasted. Stripe is close with the US gov and Kushner family, so the days of using Chinese models are probably numbered. Stripe will be pushing everyone to whatever APIs they get the most revenue from in return.

New to Codex: what’s the best harness with the subscription?

Hello -

Claude lifer who comes in peace. Ever since the Mythos fallout (ugh it was so good), I decided to give GPT 5.5 a go.

I am on the Pro Lite plan, which confusingly I thought gave me an access to the Pro model in Codex, though that seems to be web only oddly?

At any rate, the Codex app is pretty good compared to Claude. With Claude, I was a 100% Claude CLI user. With Codex, I’m wondering if anyone uses any other harnesses for a better Codex experience (Zed, Opencode, etc). I’ve seen over time that using some of these models in say Cursor provide higher overall quality vs the native tools, and I’m curious to hear from all of you who use Codex heavily if the quality really varies between harnesses.

Any suggestions? Stick to Codex.app on macOS?

Thanks

I just put my Scanwatch on after two years of WHOOP, Oura, and Apple Watch

I love this watch.

The weight, the design, the mechanical nature of it. I have a decent enough watch collection I rotate around, I even have the Hermes Grand H Series 10…. (yes..I have a problem with wearables), but the Scanwatch and Withings always keeps me coming back.

I was looking at photos when I was in the best shape of my life, and I was daily wearing my Activité Pop.

I also purchased an Eight Sleep a few weeks ago, and am now no longer needing to wear any wearable at all to bed for accurate sleep tracking.

I feel like all I care about now are getting notified of a phone call, and tracking steps.

Everything else is just nice to have. My fitness is more about me staying accountable by pushing myself, listening to my body, and living a healthy life. Except for WHOOP which I wore with a bicep band, I always take my wearables off and just wear a boring Casio in the gym to keep track of intervals.

The Scanwatch also reminds me so much of a Leica Watch I also adore, and that makes me happy too.

I’m also happy to see Withings is still selling Scanwatch bands on their site after all these years.

Sorry that this post is a complete ramble and scatter of thoughts and reflections, but I just wanted to share that I love having my Scanwatch back on my wrist again. Sometimes simple is all you need.

How reliable is Card Linking earn?

I’m tempted to link my debit card in the app in exchange for easier point redemption, as I almost never think to stop and use their portal and disable adblocks etc.

I tried searching and didn’t see much talk on it, but how consistent is earning with your card linked and paying directly on sites and in shops physically?

Any issues with using Apple Pay or Google Wallet tap either with earnings?

Thanks

Is Claude Code still the best?

(sorry, AI conversation 🫠)

I’ve been on the 20X Claude plan for the past 8 months, and I’ve been tempted by GPT 5.5 and Gemini (not so much Cursor?) to switch to, as Claude has become so incredibly slow.

Claude is generally pretty good at Swift and understanding iOS (I do have many skills and custom agents to keep it grounded), though as we know as iOS devs most models are bad at writing ObjC and Swift.

Is anyone actively using any other model than Claude and happy with the quality overall?

I know I should just set the others up and give them a trial, but I was hoping to hear from people who have really spent a lot of time recently bouncing around various models.

I will say, I do use the Gemini CLI with a Pro plan, and I will have Claude talk to Gemini to get help with second opinions, visual validation, and other A/B testing with plans. I’ve been impressed with Gemini 3.1 Pro but I don’t feel like anyone who does iOS dev ever praises Gemini for code quality at all.

How are the socks?

I am finally purging a ton of my worn and abused socks right now and I’ve been considering buying up some pairs of Mission Pro and Pro Merino socks.

Has anyone owned either of these pairs for a bit and care to share how they’ve held up?

My other concern is I’m a US 13, and the L/XL is technically US 9-12. Which, I’m very used to as this is pretty common annoyingly among most socks I buy, though I’m curious if they are slender on the top of the foot near the ankle - that’s usually the most constricting point for me with socks.

Thanks!
