Feidian Challenge 5 vs Anta Zone 2-90 vs Dynafish Xiaonian. Best Do It All Shoe for Wide & Heavier Runners?

I’m looking for a true “do-it-all” running shoe and trying to decide between the Anta Zone 2-90, Feidian Challenge 5, and Dynafish Xiaonian.

My use case is mostly everything from easy runs to 5–10K pace, with occasional half marathon efforts. I’ve got wide feet and I’m on the heavier side for a runner at around 78kg, so stability, comfort, and durability matter just as much as speed.

I’m not looking for a pure race shoe or an ultra-soft recovery shoe, more of a versatile daily trainer that can handle different paces without feeling awkward. Which one would suit this kind of runner best?

Amazing shoe for sure, but didn’t Puma basically cut off a huge portion of potential users by making it this narrow? Looking for an alternative to the Velocity 4.

Like the title suggests, my feet are a bit wide. The moment I tried them on, I knew they weren’t going to work. The area right below the Puma logo squeezed my foot so hard it genuinely felt like a tourniquet cutting off my blood flow.

So yeah, for my wide-foot friends: don’t even bother. I honestly can’t imagine a universe where these would feel comfortable, even just sitting down, let alone running in them. Unless you somehow chop off a third of your foot, then maybe they’d fit.

Going up a size doesn’t help either. It only makes the shoe longer, and the shoe is already pretty long to begin with.

Honestly, I probably should’ve gone with the New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080v15 or the Puma MagMax Nitro 2 instead.

I also considered the New Balance FuelCell Rebel v5 and the ASICS Novablast 5, but durability is still a concern for me at this price point.

Like the title says, I’m looking for a reliable YouTube Music or Spotify client for desktop. I’ve been searching for a while but haven’t found anything solid. I’ve been using a patched Spotify app on my PC for about two years, it works sometimes, but other times it doesn’t. I’ve been avoiding updates because I’m worried they might break it completely.

I’ve found a deal, Velocity Nitro 4 is $91 and MagMax Nitro 2 is $110. Is the extra cost worth it?

Another option is the Gel-Nimbus 27, same price as the VN4. Or the NB 880v15, same price as the Magmax 2.

I run about three times a week and hit the gym in between, so it gets pretty gross after each session. I’ve noticed that just using water doesn’t really get it fully clean.

As the title suggests, running without a plan is a one-way ticket to Injury Town. Luckily, I caught the injury early enough that it’s still fixable. My More v4s have also gone completely flat after 1,000km, so I’m sticking to the treadmill for the next two weeks to recover before heading back outdoors.

I’m putting together a simple two-shoe rotation:

- One for daily training

- One for race day, tempo, and intervals

I’m a 78kg male. My feet is a bit wide. My easy pace is around 5:50/km, and workouts are around 4:30/km. Currently training for 5K–10K up to half marathon.

Right now I’m using the Rocket X3 for race/tempo/interval sessions.

Unavailable (common picks I know will come up):

- Nike ZoomFly 6 (Very popular pick for sure, but unfortunately unavailable as well)

- Anything from Brooks

- Nike Vomero 18

- Adidas Adizero Evo SL

- ASICS Superblast 2

Options I’m considering:

- Adidas Adizero SL 2

- Mizuno Neo Zen / Neo Vista

- Mizuno Hyperwarp Elite / Pro

- Puma Velocity Nitro 4

- Puma Deviate Nitro 3 / 4

- Hoka Mach 6 / 7

- Hoka Clifton 10

- Hoka Bondi 9

- New Balance Rebel v5

- New Balance 1080 v15

- ASICS Novablast 5

- ASICS Magic Speed 5

- ASICS Gel Nimbus 28 (I know this is more of a max cushion option)

Also open to some Chinese brands like Anta, Xtep, etc.

The Pro version feels way too bulky and rugged, I find it really hard to pair with anything that actually looks good. Honestly, I just don’t like the look. The rounded design and smooth metal don’t really work for me either. The only thing that made me consider it was the titanium build and ceramic glass.

The standard version, on the other hand, looks much more elegant and better designed overall. It’s both functional and good-looking, I honestly don’t know why I didn’t get this watch sooner. The sensors and GPS are excellent, and the battery lasts around two weeks for me, even with running and cycling tracking every couple of days.

The OS is a bit limited, but it’s still perfectly usable. I can check notifications and reply without pulling out my phone, and everything feels very smooth so far. The only thing I really miss is having built-in maps.
