Ohlins + Wheels Recommendations

I bought this vehicle in July 2024. It’s a 2007 model with 37,000 miles on the odometer. I installed an OEM front lip and an OEM trunk lid spoiler. The front lip was black and required paint matching, so the bumper also needed a repaint.

I have some awesome ASM goodies, including the floor mats, shift boot, and side mirrors.

I prefer an OEM+ look, so I acquired a set of Ohlins DFV (standard, not the Sakebomb garage version).

What are some good wheel options?

I’m in the market to purchase one, in the Chicagoland area but willing to travel for the right deal. What is everyone seeing as far as discounts?

Family Road Trip to Road America

We live outside of Chicago and made the trek up to Elkhart Lake, WI with all of our stuff and a rear-facing car seat. Amazing practicality.

After Black Hawk Farms, i knew that the pads needed to be upgraded. I went with Project MU Club Racer from Unity Performance - it has performed exceptionally well on / off track (no squeal).

I also had the camber pins pulled / aligned to help with tire wear and improve turn in. I highly recommend this quick and easy mod!

Overall, the FL5 exceeded my expectation especially at RA where there are long straights.

Next up Autobahn CC Full
Next season 200 TW tires - any recommendations?

Brakes for Wknd/Track Warrior

Did my first track day last weekend at Blackhawk Farms. I upgraded the brake fluid with Castrol SRF but still felt brake judder under hard braking after 7-8 laps. The brake system light did come around the same time. The brake pedal felt firm and I didn’t have any issues there. I just signed up for a track day at Road America and thinking about upgrading the pads to something more aggressive to reduce judder overheating.

Context it’s a 2023 with 14k miles - weekend grocery getter, cars and coffee runs, and the occasional track day/autocross.

What are some suggestion for brake pads that can be bedded with stock rotors?

Some initially research shows folks running paragon 5’s and 3’s or Counter Space Garage. Should I upgrade the rotors as well?

Thanks,
