Estimated Taxes
Very small handyman business, first year.
Accountant suggests I should look into filing estimated taxes.
Not quite sure if I'm big enough to have to go through that hassle.

Last night I did two things:
- Added a Bing Business account
- Created a Yelp business page
Today, first call was from Yelp - kept taking and talking about how he can fill my schedule by doing this and that... He never got to his pitch because after 14 minutes I told him I needed to go.
Second call (5 minutes after hanging up with Yelp) was from LinkNow - and to be honest, they spoke so fast it wasn't until I got home and viewed their email that I knew it was them. Again, offering great things for my SEO etc on my website (which exists). Then speaking of great discounts if I sign right now. I was on the road, pulled in and said 'you have 30 seconds, get to the point' - Her response was 'just enough time to give me your credit card number' - I said that isn't happening - send me an email.
So - I know where the Yelp call originated from - I went to them but did it ALSO generate the LinkNow harassment? Doing some searches it seems that I'll be getting lots of those calls in the coming months but their price point is beyond my current income level.
I won't be clicking on their sample website that they included in the email.
Just venting - its the part of the business I hate.
I've almost exclusively purchased my Milwaukee tools from Home Depot. Once in awhile Amazon has same item cheaper.
Is there any reason to stick to Home Depot and avoid Amazon?
Given Milwaukee's control of their products I'm wondering if the Amazon product is not quite the same
I now have two of these requests.
They have several small items, put up some shelves, fix a latch on a door, fix sagging shelves.
One of the customers does not want a 'per item' quote.
What works?
Maybe its because I'm coming from a customer side of things but if I get an estimate, I say OK to that estimate.
Then the costs change in some way/shape form, I'd like an UPDATED ESTIMATE - AN UPDATE TO THE EXISTING ESTIMATE not a new estimate or a second bill for more than the original.
Quickbooks does not seem to allow me (much googling has happened) to update an approved estimate (material costs changed).
My only option seems to be to create a new estimate that the customer then needs to approve (or I can manually approve it). Not sure what happens if the prices went down???
Now I have two transactions to cover one job. PITA
I'm hoping google has failed me and there is some way to update the original without having it converted into an invoice and starting to complain that its now overdue.
