Last night really was the jays last chance to put/keep themselves in the .500’s before Atlanta. This game is already 6-0 in the 3rd and after last nights choke the jays can basically consider themselves out of a play off spot now for a week or more all because Schneider keeps trusting Hoffman. I know last nights game wasn’t a high leverage or high pressure situation going into the 9th but Hoffman can’t be trusted anywhere in the line up after the 7th inning because he can’t take the simple pressure of “ I’m the last pitcher “. At this point unless the jays really get their shit together I think we can basically consider a chance of the play offs or at least the WS is near 0%. Our defence has had some really good moments but our offence needs to get their shit together. They either swing at pitches they shouldn’t be swinging at or not swinging at pitches they should be swinging at. Heineman either makes bad challenges or doesn’t challenge the balls he should be challenging. Then our bull pen is an absolute mess and is being mismanaged at this point. The only thing keeping this team together right now is our defence and they’ve had some pretty bad moments. I know we’ve had allot of injuries this year and they had the flu hit basically the whole team at the beginning of this season but it feels like part of our team has checked out of this season after last years WS. Springer sold his home in Toronto and had bought a house in Florida so we can already guess where he’s gonna be this time next year let alone the rest of our lineup. I know our league is all doing shit rn but it’s not our league we have to face in a potential WS scenario. It’s the other guys who have been kicking our entire leagues ass handily
