My first kendama from 2012! It sat on my desks for so many years and touched so many hands of people in my dorm in college. I just looked it up today after not thinking much of it. My buddy said he got it from a friend and then gave it to me. Kendama USA Tribute. This thing is sooooo hard to play today now that ive been using big cups and sticky paint. Hats off to the OGs who could shred on one of these

Yarus is bracket 2 just to maximize facedown stuff.
Tyvar is bracket 3 ish (lots of tutors) elfball mana dork tribal and wins with triumph of the hordes or exsanguinate
Shao Jun is bracket 4 and makes a ton of thopters to tap for damage.
Kellen is a sunforger deck with a legendary human subtheme

Just wanted to show some of my stuff off.
I bought a bunch of wooden blocks in 1” and 2” sizes to use to build a 3D battle board on a budget. Spent $35 on cubes and ran a session last week. The table and I are all first time TTRPG players and really liked the 3D space.
I had them face the BattleBox adversary so the cube worked out great for the mini.
I had rough sketched of the battle areas in advance and the guys took a potty break while I whipped it up.
I would love to get minis for the players made eventually for real. Ive been using 1” coin holders and used a 1” hole punch to make character and adversary tokens.
Then i saw coin stands on amazon after searching for the coin holders and they are perfect for the domain / character cards!

Im running a homebrew in the Witherwild and it had been a blast.

I write this list as a huge fan but no hard feelings. I think there is communal dislike for Abaddon's gate.

I consumed all of these ravenously via audiobook over the last 7 months. It was awesome and I wish I could get my friends to attack 10 books so I could talk to someone about them.

I think all great stories have their lulls and this is no exception.

I wanted more Clarissa and Amos because their moments gave me constant intrigue and excitement. I wanted more Anna because I felt like she pushed the comfort zone of the characters she interacted with. And I also enjoyed the theological wrestling that she presented.

I wanted less Alex and less Filip. I didn't resonate with either of them much. Alex grew on me in the last 2 books though.

I thought the Churn was genius and all of the short stories really had a fun pacing to them.

I'm a categorical fantasy reader and this series was such a fun ride outside of my norm.

I give the whole series a 9/10.

Now i've got see the show!
