Let's not pretend this was about academic integrity.
Yes, Arday was a fraud and deserved to be fired, if not cast out of academia altogether. None of that warranted a 2 week media frenzy. The press hounded that man to suicide because, in a time of rising global fascism and instability, they still view 'woke' as the bigger problem.
Tactical scissor lifts
Saw this picture from the Libyan civil war, and while the setup is janky, I see genuine utility here. Being able to put a guy or two and a crew served or a CROWS 30 feet up wherever you might be seems like a useful capability to have, whether as an ad hoc guard tower, observation platform, or an elevated firing position you can pop up wherever.
That said, I've never heard of "proper" militaries using them, and I'm sure there are reasons for that. What am I missing w.r.t. their lack of utility?
