I was really desperate to get a gig, and I saw a post where they were looking for someone to do a data entry gig remotely. I sent the person a text here on Reddit, and he/she advised me to text a specific someone on Telegram which I did. Everything was going fine -I thought. I was given a task to transcribe 70 pages per their own rate per page, which I agreed - remember I was desperate for a gig.

The instructions were simple: transcribe 70 pages within 12 hours. Which I did. They accepted the document after I was done within 3-4 hours and was given another Telegram contact to submit details and receive my pay. This is where the red flags began to show. But still did as prompted.

Several hours later, the pay account asked for my details which I gave them. They finally asked for $60 for an "Employee Verification ID," which I declined to pay even a cent for, and they tried to haggle to 40 USD - this is where I realized it was all a scam.

Be alert.

I have been having an idea of interacting with artists as they tell me about their art and the journey - not a headliner for gossip news or whatever. Just tell the people what you are trying to communicate with your art and stories behind it.

It is a pilot project (hobby), and I would love to meet some of you.

I dated her for an year and some months. It was a long-distance relationship, but it worked. We had issues a few months ago and we were kinda having a break. Nasema kinda because on paper we were not dating dating but whatever we were doing while we were in the relationship never stopped. The long-distance thing is no more since we are in the same locality currently. But we're not dating.

Before we had issues I had promised her some money to pay for something and I felt like I owed her much (she knew I was broke, like really broke😂) and alikuwa amekam through for me much. According to my math, I knew I could help her out. She wasn't asking for some crazy amount of money.

The problem at hand is that as much as the relationship iliendelea after the "issues phase," we were never the same. She never asked what was going on in my life but in case I approached her with something she would help, and vice versa. Hence the problem: a lot has happened at work; every day I wake up feeling like quitting my job, and the only thing keeping me going there is the money I "owe" her. I am literally in a toxic working environment. The deadline ya kumpea the money was on friday (she was paying for some exams which are starting later this week).

Honestly I didn't know when her exams were starting, and time aliniambia sikuwa na much option apart from waiting for the end of the month (by 5th August). Najua deep down ako na different thoughts about me being in her life, but you see, intentions are nothing without enough resources.

Both are insults and "good stuff" depending on context, who is saying it, and how they are saying it.

My concern is why don't we have "Girl brain" na vile dada zetu wamesoma na wako in every podcast oozing wisdom. Haha.

I completed my degree in Applied Physics early this year (graduation will be in December). I specialized in Electronics and instrumentation bit. From 2024 i have been trying to perfect my skills in Software (IoT). i have basics in python, C, and php. Also my final year project scored the highest.

After graduation I am supposed to be registered under Physics society of Kenya and become a Physicist. But realistically the job market wants engineers not Physicists - Physicists understand machines better than engineers.

I am looking for an internship opportunity somewhere my talents/skills won't go to waste. I love making hardware components and software working together.
