anyone know where to get formal/office looking elastic band pants (no zipper or buttons)

i am looking for elastic band long pants that can pass off as working pants.

i got some from japan some time back but they are getting old.

the thing i cant even find the term i am looking for. "elastic long pants" refer to mostly exercise pants that dont look formal looking, "working elastic pants" usually refer to those zipper + 1 button kind.

i am looking for fully elastic band only pants that looks like work pants.

Yuzu infused winter ramen from Ramen Story @ Fortune centre

Apparently the last few bowl of noodles for that service. Saw them refusing to seat some people cause there's no more broth left.

Im not too sure if it's because I'm sick so can't taste as well but I feel like can be more yuzu-ier. But still I will come back to eat again.

$13.90

Soon Li Whitley Food Centre porridge @ tai thong crescent

My wife likes this, I think it's decent too. Flavourful and a more subtle saltiness from caipoh (salted raddish). Different from Sin Heng Kee where it's like overall strongly flavourful salty. Both are good. ($5.50)

Right next to the must-get Wu Xiang (add a tofu)

Specials for this period (Style Palette @ woodleigh village hawker)

Just sharing the specials, yet to try them. Maybe it will interest the pork chop eater guy. So far most of their food are decent.

No affiliations but I occasionally buy their food cause I live nearby. Will order when people come visit.

Will go around to try these in the upcoming months

Hundred Grains from Aperia Mall

How this place works is like buffet for caifan dishes. (Usually there's 2 rows of dishes)

You take the dishes you want then they will weigh. (Excluding rice) 100g @ $3.15ish iirc

1st pic is about $8, 2nd pic is $12

Free flow items

Drinks (cranberry. Calamasi , fruit punch, jasmine tea , soya bean)

Rice ( white , brown. Millet porridge)

Dessert (green bean soup)

Worth : yeah it's pretty worth it and tasty. Also because we have a kid and she can eat some of the dishes + watermelon + soyabean

Pricey caifan but with the free flow items it's great for family.

If you are ok with China style dishes you would like it.

Red bean bingsu from Nunsaram @ velocity @ novena square

When someone have craving we go where we gotta go. And since we can't get to Korea...

This pricey ice kachang have ice like powdered rod like crystals. It kinda looks like Ajinamoto tbh.

First try of Yuen Kee wontons(City Square)

Saw there was no queue and bought this with their "viral sauce"... had to ask what was their specialty sauce.(Peanut and chilli oil)

Fillings were flavourful but the skin nothing to be excited about. Don't care for the viral sauce (maybe because I tabaoed home?). But love their fermented bean pasta garlic chilli.

Verdict: might order again if no queue and maybe eat with noodles and their chilli perhaps. Will want to try their dumplings.

Fishball noodles (white)

Storytime : when I was in primary school my father will occasionally bring us out for supper during weekends to a fishball noodle stall(we call it the fish dumpling noodle store). They always ordered for me kuay teow 白 when we go there. It was a special memory as it was a treat to go out so late at night.

The slightly sweet taste of the kuay teow with the fragrant smell of pork lard and saltiness of the fish ball meld into my favourite dish during then. That being said not all places can get kuay teow (white) correct. I usually look for older uncles manning the fishball stores even then, they might not get the balance right or it might end up too bland.

Extra story: When I was older and night cycling about Singapore, I happened to go to the same store for supper because my friend and I was nearby.... And chance upon my father also eating supper there. Hahs such a coincidence.

$6.90 Hor Fun (Small serving but good char on the noodles)

From Traditional Penang Food at Toa Payoh Central

Thin velvety skin, seasoned minced pork, generous full or half prawn, with a crunch of usually chestnut or black fungus. Size to be close to half palm size and very plump. after its cooked it is almost like you can see the veins and the meat is kinda visible through the skin. (skin can be yellow or white depending)

I am looking for wonton's older brother, shui jiao but i want them in sauce. places that can do a dry version.

It's difficult to find, bcoz dumplings or shuijiao search leads to thick skin kind. Good Wanton noodle store search usually don't have good shuijiao.

Note: its not those thick skined china style boiled / fried dumplings that the skin is not translucent after. no cabbage too. and not referring to you chao shou (chilli oil vinegar style) , and dont give me recommendations of the pitiful wontons

i hate that the word dumpling has so many iterations from ba zhang to the china style dumplings to wantons etc.

there used to be a store at kovan, same coffee shop as the punggol nasi lemak and ba chor mee . at the back of the coffee shop, had a store that freshly make savoury chee cheong fun and made awesome shui jiao in sauce that has haebihiam (that is not very spicy but very flavourful)

there used to be a very haughty hk chef at casaurina that did these plump shui jiao with almost a whole prawn. i believe it was around 1 dollar per shuijiao. but both stores are gone now. (sorta)

give me your shui jiao recommendation. (preferable to have prawn within)

once again NOT TALKING ABOUT WONTON

After a long day at work, need to settle dinner, settle the kid, settle the cats dinner or accidents. Andddd its bedtime... Excluding getting a live-in helper what shortcuts or life savers tips do you have.

I know dish washer and a dryer would probably help. What else do you recommend or swear by?

We use a handheld vacuum + vacuum mop for the house for most days but seems insufficient
