[ADVICE] I have been approached by someone on fiverr to take interviews on their behalf

Hi everyone,

I have been approached by a person in fiverr who wants me to give interviews on their behalf and offering 15-20% of monthly salary

THis is their exact message

"I am managing software development middle-size team involving 15+ members based on Asia and currently looking for long-term remote opportunities with US and Canadian companies.
One problem we often face is that many companies prefer candidates who are in the same time zone or already based in Canada/US. Because of that, we have been collaborating with some Canadian and US residents and friends who allow us to use their information for applying and getting remote jobs.

In return, we share around 15-20% of the monthly income with them after getting hired. It’s a fair and reasonable collaboration for both sides.

We already had some successful cases before, but also many failures. Recently during interviews, we faced some difficulties because of our Asian-looking faces and speech accent/tone. So now we are searching for a long-term partner who can help us more directly during the interview process.
After collaboration, your role will be attending interviews using the prepared information and strong support from our side. We will guide and support you during the whole process. Once we successfully land the job, we can offer you 15-20% of the total monthly income from each position."

I want to know

  1. Is it common?

  2. Do poeple actually do it and,

  3. Is it safe?

Feedback on a new MacOs tool i built, alreading generating revenue

Hi everyone,

I have created a macOs only tool which helps you take notes and provide structureds hints during your meeting while being completely invisible to the meeting rooms. I built it for myself but eventually made a product around it.

I am having 48 users who has registered and 10 paid users so far.

But feedback is something i am really lacking, users use it, pay for it but hardly anyone provide any feedback, some of my friends says it's a good thing cuz noone's complaining.

I still want it to put it out there and get honest feedback and the overall journey experience,

Few things about it:

  1. It is free for 5 mins after every 10 mins in free tier
  2. It is lightweight, (14 MB) whiel the competitors are having 400-500 MB app size
  3. I have gotten one good feedback on the pricing, i have kept same price across globe (regional prices adjusted)

App link in comments

Looking forward to getting it reviewed and receive feedback, if you want to get your app reviewed, hmu. happy to do it

Why do some people actually listen while others are just waiting for their turn to speak?

Hi everyone,

I have seen this countless of times, and it is infuriating. It feels like the other person has already decided what he/she going to say next.

I have seen a common trait in all these people (i have too many such people around me), most of them had a leader upbringing, like only son in the house, or eldest child in the house.

I kind of get it people have always come to you for advice but does this eventually strips you of the capabiltiy to actually listen or have a genuine conversation with someone without giving them advice?

How to approach vibe coding rounds in technical Interviews?

Hi everyone,

I have been giving interview for Senior Backend engineer and few companies has introduced a vibe coding round, which is to build a product in 1.5 hours.

I am not new to vibe coding and has shipped so many products before by purely vibe coding, but the thing is 1.5 hours is a bit less, i don't know how should i approach this.

I generally take this approach

  1. Manually write Functional and Non functional requirements and get it aligned with interviewrs

  2. Ask cursor to generate a product plan for me (ROle: product engineer)

  3. Once Signed off, asking cursor to generate a plan for core entities and APi needed (Role: Senior architect)

4, once that is locked, asking cursor to build a todo list for me, with dependency graph (Role: Senior architect)

  1. One by one asking cursor to implement todos (Role: Senior Backend engineer)

I had one interview last week and i royally fucked it up, cursor keeps on spiraling and going out of scope even if i explicitly asked it not to. Some question eventually confused me and took most of my time and i was not able to compelte the code in 1.5 hours.

I want to know, if there has been who actually cleared vibe coding round, how do you approach it? (Not lookign for prompts) Trying to understand how do you make sure that you;re moving forward in implementation and not spending too much time on nitty grities

Also what's your goal in these type of interviews? Although companies mention they don;t want a working product but want to see how do interact with AI, but I hardly believe them.

Cuz, if i can't produce a working code in 1.5 hours for a small problem statement, what is it good anyway.

Note: Please response If you have actually been through these round or cleared, i know how to vibe code not just in this way.

Hi everyone,
I am going through hackerrank interview process for senior backend engineer role.
This role is titles plan build and review round
This is the description

“In this round, you’ll work through a real-world engineering scenario using an existing codebase, along with a coding AI assistant. You’ll be given tickets similar to what you’d encounter on the job and will need to understand the problem, define what a successful fix looks like, and collaborate with the AI to come up with a clear implementation plan.
You won’t be writing the final code yourself—the focus is on how you break down the problem, guide the AI, and create a thorough, well-structured plan that can be handed off for implementation. The interviewer may jump in with questions along the way.
This round is designed to get a sense of how you approach problems and how you use AI tools in your day-to-day workflow”

I understand what the round is about, i wanted to know if someone has been through this round?

What kind of features i can expect to build?
Also, is there any framework which i can use to approach this round to implement it.

Appreciation any help

Hi, I am looking for people to have system design mock interviews with.

I am prepping for Senior Backend Engineer role. I have just below 4YOE. My prep has been pretty good, I’ve got most things covered, need to put my knowledge to test and get over nerves by doing some mocks.

I’ve had system design interviews in the past with FAANG where I missed out because of system design, so don’t want to repeat the same mistakes.

Please DM if interested, we can schedule something based on our convenience.

PS: if this isn’t the right place for this, please point to where I can find mock interview partners. Thanks in advance.

My close friend runs a sunflower oil mill in a tier-3 city in India currently all B2B. I am trying to help him break into local retail like kirana stores and small supermarkets.

He’s agreed to supply inventory if I can get shelf space.

The problem is - I have zero experience approaching shopkeepers for this. Anyone who’s done something similar or in similar space? Like walking into shops to get a product stocked.

Specifically want to know

  1. My friend said he will give one crate for free, should i pass on the offer to shopkeepers as a last negotiating factor? Does this take away my product’s credibility?
  2. How would i market it? I mean people won’t buy it i think, generally people stick to their trusted brand. Should i market it first or do a product validation?

I am currently focusing on my city only.

Note that this brand is a b2b brand and gets shipped to different parts of india like orrisa, jharkhand, Maharashtra, jammu.

For people outside of India, sunflower oil is a necessary ingredeint in northern part of indian food and being used in day to day items.
