Projekt Records (label that Steve Roach is on, owned by Sam Rosenthal of “Black Tape for a Blue Girl” notoriety) posted about a $25 4-CD mystery bundle on social media. I decided to roll the dice and am pleased to add 2 Roach collaborations to my collection, as well as some “new to me” ambient. To my surprise, a 5th bonus CD was included! Including shipping, paid about $6-7 for each CD. Time to start listening!

While not necessarily known as an ambient artist, he has made some of the most incredible ambient albums. This 34 minute song from 2019 is a beautiful, masterfully produced active listening experience. The song has an extremely wide dynamic range, so he encourages you in the liner notes to actively control your volume throughout the listening experience.

Idk how readable this will be on Reddit, but happy to have basically completed a stack of ambient CDs. The ones that aren’t in the rack are too tall. The “Rippingtons” CD is actually HH by Zake, which was sent without a true CD case.

Don’t see these guys talked about too often in here, but in my opinion they’re the front runners of their craft (ambient Americana). This is their new album from last month, which consists of 10 beautiful tracks totaling 40 minutes. You really can’t go wrong with any of their releases!
