I’m starting to get a feel for it

Hello! I’m a heritage learner who’s just learning how to write. I can read and type but hand writing is very hard for me. I’ve been practicing on and off for a few days now. I notice that after a little bit it starts to correct itself almost. I try to stop after each word to analyze what went wrong before writing the next one. The script im copying is 楷書. What are your thoughts? My goal is for my writing to look natural while also being as aesthetically pleasing

Tonight’s practice

Slightly misquoted + rushed ending. I haven’t practiced foundational in a while and totally forgot how energy intensive it is 😅😅 open to critique!

Found my old notes

Dug thru my camera roll and found some notes from college. I really liked writing in pen lol eventually switched from regular pen to erasable pen. Thought it’d be fun to share since we don’t see a lot of numbers on here. Curious what you guys think

What is a 預分科?

I’m learning Chinese. There’s a term that I ran into in my reading. What is it? I tried to google but it told me it’s a prep class? It didn’t seem right. I’m marking this with the culture tab since it doesn’t seem like something we have in the US

Pants for my toddler

My first sewing project since 7th grade! I had to hand sew the entire thing as I don’t have a sewing machine so the stitches are uneven as hell but I’m so happy it’s finally done!!

It’s made out of a men’s button up shirt. I used a running stitch to sew the panels together and did a French seam. I must’ve sewn too close to the seam when I was doing the inside part since some of the fabric edges aren’t completely enveloped. Backstitch to hem the pants, back pocket, and the top part with the elastic. Used red chalk to mark lines. The item hasn’t been thru the washer yet. I’m scared it’s gonna get destroyed haha.

Actual speed

It seems much faster when you’re actually writing haha

Believe it or not this is engrosser’s practice, not copperplate 🤕🤕 what am I doing wrong?

A notebook guideline guide for copperplate

Hey guys, I made this thing today and I wanted to share in hopes that it helps somebody! I know they probably sell something like this buuuut cardboard is free!

The thing is just one strip of cardboard. Make sure the long ends of the strip are parallel. Cut another parallel line, but not all the way through. Make a 55° (or whatever angle) cut. Fold the cardboard along the score you just made. That’s it!

To use, rest your straight edge along the diagonal and slide the cardboard across the page.

Hope this makes drawing guidelines less of a chore. Happy writing!
