I was wondering about how some languages spoken by tens of millions of people or more become hard to understand even for native speakers.
One common trait among them is that there is a dominant country that unofficially, that is not enforced by treaties, sets the rules to what the standard grammar and pronunciation rules are.
This wouldn't be so easy with a language designed and chosen to be the new standard, as no country is supposed to be the dominant.
One of the key criticism against capitalism is that individuals hoarding resources like gold hungry dragons is harmful due to the artificial scarcity it creates. When a few people take way more than they need, it becomes harder for everyone else to enjoy essential resources.
But in two self called socialist countries, namely Vietnam and China, billionaires exist. Considering how strict these governments are about their policies, this is clearly tolerated. How is the accumulation of excessive individual wealth compatible with an ideology that criticises exactly that?
