Indexer Usenet français

Bonjour

Existe-t-il des indexers Usenet français? J’avais testé il y a 10 ou 15 ans BinnewZ mais je crois qu’il a mouru. la nature ayant horreur du vide, peut-être qu’il y a un remplaçant.

10Gbps Usenet - is it worth it? Looking for real-world experience

I started using Usenet last weekend and so far, so good. I subscribed to Eweka and NZBGeek.

I’m considering getting a 10GbE USB-C adapter to take full advantage of my internet connection, but I’m wondering how well the Mac mini M1 (16GB / 2TB 70% full) handles sustained 10G Usenet downloads.

For those running Usenet at 10Gbps (or close to it):

  • What speeds are you actually getting?
  • How are CPU temperatures and overall performance?
  • Any issues with sustained downloads?

Would love to hear your real-world experience before I pull the trigger on the 10G adapter.

Using Eweka outside of home

Hello there

I just took advantage of the summer promo of Eweka and I bought also NZBGeek. I use a Mac mini with SABnzdb.

Can I replicate my home setup to my parents place or are there IP limitations? I’m concerned there are IP restrictions.

Also it comes with Easynews. what is the benefit of Easynews vs Eweka? Aren’t both Usenet providers?

high-speed CDN/egress bandwidth

Hello there, just got that lightening icon, am I correct to assume I abused too much of TorBox? Do I need to wait for tomorrow or a few days to be back to normal?

https://ibb.co/kgtN8x6T

EDIT: I found the reason. The lightning icon appears after you’ve reached 50 downloads, indicating that you’re a heavier user. It doesn’t have any impact or consequences. it’s purely informational.

Downloading zip files is 2x faster

Hello there

I mostly download content from TorBox to my local Mac mini M1 on wifi 6. A fast.com speed test gets me 1Gbps. A TB speed test gets me 820 Mbps.

Once in cache, I download directly the file I’m interested it. Then I get around 400 Mbps.

However, when I download the whole thing in zip, I get almost consistent speed at 900 Mbps, with a few drops at 300.

Is this normal behavior?

Before I get snarky comments, I’m well aware that from a reality check, it’s a matter of waiting 10 or 20 minutes for a file to finish and it’s not the end of the world. Hashtag First World Problems.

Fusion & PenguPlay

Hello there

Anyone using PenguPlay with Fusion? I have a cryptic message “an error occurred“ every time. I created a new add-on with the newly token implementation but I wonder if others could try to see if I’m the only one with the issue.

PS: it works on Stremio

Test Flight expiring in 65 days

Hello there, first let me say all my praise about the app, I love it. The design is slick and it’s easy to use. Just one thing, I believe the initial setup could be streamlined to make it more accessible for non savvy users.

Now, after expiring, is there a way to extend the period for testing? Do I have to make a request somewhere or is it automatic?

I hope GA is coming soon!

Manual refresh of webDAV working?

For context, I use Infuse Pro and I setup TorBox WebDAV. I’m aware the folder is refreshed every 15 minutes but not sure if it‘s new but we can manually refresh it. I tried but got this message:

There was no item found at this path. Please check the path and try again.

Could anyone try and let me know if it works? add a file and do a manual refresh after a while as explained here.

Multi-language support

firstly, I want to say I’m a huge fan of the app, it’s truly amazing and the developers built something truly fantastic. Well done.

I was wondering if multi language support is planned. It would be great for my parents and I am sure it will make the app even more popular. I’m sure it has been discussed before but I couldn’t find info about the roadmap.

TorBox vs AllDebrid

I discovered last month TorBox and I’m entirely satisfied. However, today I wanted to download some rare music. It’s from a private tracker which has a few seed. Most album are in queue on TB.

I am on the free demo of AllDebrid, which i find more difficult to use, from a user-experience. However, I was very surprised that AD was much efficient in downloading the files than TB.

Is there a reason for such a difference of treatment?

Do you guys use both services?

API key management

Hi there, I think I’ve been too excited as I just discovered TorBox a few weeks ago and realised it’s a rabbit hole, with so many plugins or apps…like this morning I discovered Eclipse Music App, just wow…

Anyway, is there a way to track all services/apps/add-ons that use my API Key? I know I can renew it to automatically revoke access but I was wondering if something exists for that purpose.

Clarification on TorBox's limitation

Hello there

I wanted to confirm the following, for Essential Plan (paid once, not the subscription):

  1. Max download file is 200 GB per file, so if I download 2 different files of 100 GB, it's fine. But if I download one file of 150 GB, it's not fine. Correct?

  2. 3 concurrent download: I can download 3 files at the same time, correct?

  3. Once the file is downloaded, it stays in the queue. Is there a limit of files and a retention? For instance, can I leave 100 files downloaded in the queue for 3 months?

Are these limitations lifted in Pro subscription?

Bitrate info in search results

Hello - I was wondering if there is a way to show the bitrate of a file to ensure highest quality. I can guess that between a 80 GB movie and a 40 GB, bitrate will be higher logically for the bigger size file.

However for TV shows in 2160p, we can get 15 or 24 Mbps bitrate and I can “feel” a difference of quality In certain scenes. I watch on a Panasonic OLED TV.

Or maybe it depends of the source/ platform? For instance Spider-Noir is 18 Mbps while Widow’s Bay is 25.
