For Those Who Have Elgato Issues

I get that there are those who have major gripes with Elgato (especially concerning WaveLink). Thankfully I have had a pretty positive experience with minimal issues (though still have the issue of no audio when waking from sleep/hibernation).

My Question though is, what system are you running when loading Elgato programs? Laptop, Desktop, Mac, PC? Just curious.

So for those of us who use a separate microphone source that is not embedded into our camera source; there will always be a sync issue. Now I know OBS offers the sync offset which I have been able to set the correct value for after some trial and error.

Aside from dragging a test clip into your editing software of choice and counting the number of frames that the sound is behind the action (or vice versa) and then doing some math between your fps and then milliseconds conversion, is there a tool out there or method that can give you a close approximation of the offset value if you provide a source clip?

I know that church cover up is being exposed recently (much to the effort of Mike Winger). I grew up listening to Perry Stone (partly because I have a family member who works for his ministry). He is a word of faith/Charismatic/Prophecy teacher.

I know of the accusations that were brought against him a few years ago about being inappropriate with women. I have listened to him on and off but thinking of steering clear of him. Since learning there are other views rather than premill dispensationalism (which he is a proponent of), I have just been feeling uneasy about him.

His prophecies seem to be a combination between the dreams and visions and the "downloads" he claims he gets from God and looking at current events to build his prophecy teachings on.

Does any else get a weird vibe from him?

More so your view on eschatology matters. I want to be explicit and say that this is NOT a salvation issue. To list just a few views and typical outlook on life to demonstrate how eschatology views shape how you live.

Premillennial/Pre Trib View: You believe that Christ returns prior to the millennial reign. You mostly see the books of Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelation as future or as partial/dual fulfillment. This especially rings true if you are a dispensationalist and hold to a pre-trib rapture view. In that sense you believe you will not go through the tribulation that precedes Christ return.

Postmillennial: The belief that things will improve over time and that Christ will return once the church has influenced and governs most of the world (sometimes called dominion theology). This also holds that Christ returns after the 1,000 year reign.

Amillennial: This view takes that some (not all) prophecies have been fullfilled and hold to the "already, not yet" view. They take some scripture in Revelation as symbolic and hold that we currently live in the millennial reign, but it is not a literal 1000 years.

Personally, from my upbringing I held to a pre-trib rapture view and a part of me wants to still hold to that. But since early church history has never taught a secret coming of Christ and Paul and Jesus seem to imply Christians must endure to the end, I hold to a Premill view. I don't see everything that happens in Israel/Middle East as a sign. My concentration is in living faithfully for Christ. Worrying about what the future holds and trying to decode the news as prophecy and living in fear is not how Christ told us we should live.

Where do you lean? Are you living faithfully or chasing signs in the headlines?

A couple months ago, I felt the Lord really drawing me back from how I had been living the last two years (basically just doing whatever and not building my relationship with Him). I feel I have had a real inward change and no longer think of when I sin that I just shake it off. I actually despise when I sin (which has decreased substantially) and repent of it.

Entertainment as far as show and movies I feel has been a bit of hindrance, so I have decreased the time I spent on them. I wanted to give some recommendations of what I think is okay or good for Christians to watch. I will just give a short list and a bit of a description as the list could be exhaustive. Again, use your own discernment.

"A Week Away"- Series.

An 8-episode series that is available on Angel Studios. I found really well done and of course it is a musical. Cheesy yes, but it centers around struggles and transformations happening during a weeklong youth camp.

"The Way Home" - Series.

Currently on its 4th and final season, if you are a time travel fan, you will like this. Available on Hallmark Plus. This focuses on the Landry family and the secrets that are uncovered by jumping into a pond that takes them into different points of their state's history.

"Chicken Sisters"- Series.

Has two seasons and is about as Hallmark as you can get. Two dueling fried chicken establishments duke it out on a national televised competition show. This all while secrets and broken relationships are mended.

"Dr. Stone"- Series.

On its third and final season. Available on Crunchyroll, this anime is fairly clean with minimal fan service. It follows a guy named Senku and friends as they travel the world to revive everyone from a freak global occurrence that turned everyone to stone. You also get to learn some neat stuff about science to.

"Chuck"- Series.

I believe you can get this on Prime Video to buy it, but we got it on a bluray set recently. This has five season and is from the good ol' early 2000's. It is about an unlikely in store tech expert who is the governments most valuable information tool. There is a bit of suggestive content but nothing by todays' standards.

What are your thoughts? Do you have any recommendations.
