Had one of most frustrating interactions with a customer. Let me share lang.

So this senior cx lined up sa priority lane, and since medyo mahaba pila I did advance orders para mag punch nang mag punch na lang PA ko. I asked her anong gamot niya, she said “wait lang miss ha tinatanong ko kasi si ChatGPT.” I said fine and moved on to the next cx.

Minutes later, she went to the other lane para pumila since wala na masyadong tao. She asked for a pharmacist specifically, so ako yun. I was ready to answer her questions as it’s part of my job. She asked me, “Miss anong okay na multivitamins for seniors like me? Gusto ko mataas ang calcium blah blah blah.” So syempre ni-recommendahan ko after asking kung ano mga vitamins at maintenance meds na nasa regimen niya ngayon. After my recommendations, she said, “Yung SODIUM CARBONATE sana.” Okay baka gusto niya, Sodium Bicarbonate. I clarified, she insisted that it was Sodium Carbonate na Vitamin C daw as per ChatGPT.

I showed her Sodium Ascorbate and Calcium Carbonate. Explained which is which for like 5 minutes. She asked if she could take pictures then later she said, “Okay eto daw sabi ni Chat” pointed to the Sodium Ascorbate. She then asked for different brands available in our store, showed her, she took pictures, pointed to Bewell-C and said, “Okay ito, approved niya.” She then asked me ano daw gamot for diarrhea, so I told her you may take ORS and probiotics muna especially if 1 day pa lang po then if multiple bm na you may take Loperamide. She asked ChatGPT, again, na para bang wala siyang pharmacist na kaharap. She then asked for Racecadotril. I told her I can’t dispense it for a day old diarrhea plus it needs a prescription from a doctor.

The kupal in me no longer had the patience to resist and asked, “maam nagpapa-doktor po kayo or kay chatgpt lang po kayo nagpapa-consult?” She laughed, thinking I was joking but I was 🤏 this close to leaving the store and clocking out. The whole encounter lasted for 15 minutes.

I no longer had the patience to entertain her questions. She left but came back like 10 minutes later. She asked my PA if we had any probiotics on hand. Of course, kupal na naman ako, I told my PA not to dispense her any meds anymore. I told her to tell her that we’re out of stock of all probiotics. Customer didn’t insist though, she left the store na lang. I hope she checked with ChatGPT for probiotics.

Pikon na pikon ako sa reply nung nasa gitna.

Eto na naman po tayo sa mga sobrang entitled na customers na akala mo kung maka utos ay binayaran pagkatao’t kaluluwa mo. I understand how frustrating it is lining up for medicines, especially sa mga malalaking botika, pero out of our control na lalo kapag mga nauna sating customers super dami ng gamot. Marami nang options to buy meds naman eh.
