eBay Refurbished P2S Retutn?

Hello all, I wanted input from the group here before I moved forward with any final decision:

During the recent sale, I actually found that xTool was selling a few refurb P2S units on eBay (~$2173 USD shipped).

Unit came in last week after some shipping delays due to an issue with the label being unable to be read (foreshadowing). When the unit arrived, the box was mangled, and when I opened it up the unit looked to have been dropped/dragged. Best guess was the packing tape used to secure the box broke in transit, FedEx attempted to put everything back in but put the unit back in upside down so the foam didn’t align, and the antifreeze, and power cable is missing. The day before it arrived, I got Covid so I couldn’t set it up until last night when I was feeling better.

Once I finally disassembled the broken pieces of the outer case, put my own distilled water in and powered it, seemed to power ok. Gantry seems square still, but the distance camera cuts off the top view of the area.

xTool has offered to send new antifreeze and replacement broken plastic casings or return the unit.

Do I keep the unit at the price I got, troubleshoot and take the gamble or return it and get my money back?

Refurb P2S ordered

Bought a factory refurb P2S and it’s coming tomorrow. What are some good projects to try out on the machine that showcase its ability.

I had an S1 before this and did some smaller wooden puzzles and some Etsy files for layered plywood projects.

Thanks in advance!

S1 upgrade?

So I wasn’t entirely fond of the S1 40w and was speaking to a buddy who does a lot of CNC and Laser work. He mentioned getting the P2S for my requirements.

I did sell my S1 just before this round of special deals happening now so I got pretty good money for it but clearly not enough for a new P2S. I had the 40w with the 2W IR module, conveyor, riser and rotary attachment.

My main projects have been small multi layer plywood projects and some small ornaments for the wife. She wants larger cut designs for decorations but I hate not having some of the smart features like my FDM 3D printers (primarily the live view camera). I know this can be modified or external but I don’t want to mess with it too much.

Does the P2S seem like a good next step?

H2C cutting module offset adjustment error

I have one of the first release/first wave of H2C units and bought the cutting module kit after the fact. I also bought the Birds Eye camera and installed it but waited til this latest release to actually be able to use it.

Now, when I try to cut glossy stickers, I get errors during the calibration cut that the unit could not perform the cutting module offset calibration. I have re-run the calibration from the tool box, used the matte Scoth tape over the markers, increases the cutting pressure, nothing.

When it cuts it’s clearly off by a lot. Anybody had success with glossy sticker paper? I have ordered matte sticky paper to try. To be fair, I have not tried any other cutting project either

AliExpress/Amazon Vision Encoder Plate?

Has anyone ordered/tried the encoder plates from Amazon or AliExpress? Any success? Not great? What’s the consensus? I have the legitimate one for the H2C and can tell a difference in the XY.
