Strange sensorial/neurological sensations after a migraine

Hello folks! This year I started experiencing some strange sensations that seem to be related to migraine, but I'm not really sure...

Usually, screen use leads to eye pain, headaches, and eventually a migraine. However, I also started experiencing some very strange sensations, such as a weird tinnitus-like sensation that seems to muffle my ears and fill my head like a wave, usually lasting for about half a second.

I started experiencing these sensations this year, around the same time my light sensitivity got worse (I've had it 24/7 for the last few years). I recently noticed that they seem to become more noticeable during or after a migraine, especially on the day following a stronger attack.

On the days when I'm feeling less sensitive, using my phone usually results in a normal headache and/or eye pain. During or after a migraine, however, the same use seems to trigger those weird sensations instead of the usual pain. I actually prefer having a headache to experiencing them, because they're so strange and frightening. It's like my head is glitching!

It feels like my migraines may have developed in a way where, instead of getting a headache from screen use, I sometimes get these other sensations.

I don't know if these kinds of sensations are common with migraine. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

VSS affecting light sensitivity

Hello folks, I have "mild" dry eye syndrome and searching about it I fond out about VSS, which I have but of the kind that I only notice the static if closed eyes or looking into the dark/unfocused. Even so, my main complaint is a very debilitating light sensitivity, that got progressively worse with the years, specially regarding screens (they are what triggers my other symptoms the most).

Along with the sensitivity I'm now experience strange sensations in the head and along the body, like heaviness, tension in the head/shoulders, a "tingling" sensation/electricity running through the whole body, etc... it got to a point that I can barely look to my phone without triggering those for hours + the light sensitivity being the worst it has ever been

Does anyone have something similar??

IPL and light sensitivity

I've seen that IPL helps with symptoms including light sensitivity, but I've also seen warnings that one of its (temporary) side effects is causing mild light sensitivity. So, I was wondering if the procedure is really safe for someone that already has intense light sensitivity

Has anyone here with incapacitating light sensitivity as one of their symptoms ever had IPL? It would be nice to know from personal experience

Weird flash/flicker in the vision - anyone has experienced it too?

Hello folks, I have migrane, photophobia and dry eye, searching about it I also found out I have visual snow - its more when I have my eyes closed or am looking loosely to a blank surface. I've had visual aura from migrane some times, but yesterday I saw a weird flash of light while using my phone. It was like if the screen itself glitched for a split second, but I notice it was clearly my vision and not the screen. After that I got really anxious and got off the phone.

I'm dealing with increasing photophobia for some time and it worsens when I use screens. I avoid using them most of the time but sometimes I have no option. But, I've never had a visual flash/glitch like that. Anyone has had it?

Finally got a meibography and other exams

Hello folks, I finally got an appointment with dry eye specialists and I did a meibography and some other exams. I think the worst thing is that I have MGD with a gland loss of 32 to 50%. My tear break-up time in one of the eyes is 2 secs and the lipid layer measurement for both eyes is 30 nm. Is it bad? I think that means I have evaporative dry eyes thanks for my gland loss and poor miebo quality?

They also said that I have considerable inflammation and recommended that I start to do IPL. I'm not sure if this would resolve my main complaint that still is general light sensitivity, but at least it would help to preserve the glands I still have. But I think I should find the cause of the inflammation and what made my glands die in the first place?

I would like to know if anyone had light sensitivity cause of dry eyes that got better with IPL. Or maybe another treatment? Because I'm not sure if those findings explain this photophobia

Appointment with cornea specialist went not so well - Advice Needed

Well, after 2 years visiting different ophthalmologists I finally got to see a cornea specialist. And, well, it wasn't exactly what I expected. He took a look at my eyes and was absolute certain that I don't have Dry Eyes Syndrome or MGD. I asked about a meibography and he said that it was of no use. He also said that dry eyes syndrome doesn't cause light sensitivity (!?) and couldn't explain why mine was so bad. At the end, he referred me to a retina specialist just in case, but was sure that my problem is psychologic.

To say thar I'm disappointed is an understatement. I'm dealing with light sensitivity and symptoms related to dry eyes for 2 years. All doctors I went to said my eyes were irritated, but the only diagnosis I got was blepharitis - which that cornea specialist even said was actually very minimal (!?).

I need to hear from others that passed through a similar situation. Am I in the wrong for doubting thar doctor? Should I thrust his diagnosis of no dry eye syndrome/MGD without further exams? I don't know what to do anymore... in no way my problem is just psychologic...

My symptoms: pain and discomfort when using screens, dry eyes along the day and some nights (going the day using eyedrops), migranes from sunlight and screen use, irritated nerves/red eyes, feeling foreign bodies/sand in the eye without there being any, light sensitivity (that got worse those weeks)...

Any Brazillians on the sub?

Hello! I'm new to the sub and dealing with mild to somewhat bad dry eyes for 2 years, but since the symptoms started to get a bit worse I searched more about the condition and ended up on this sub. Its amazing to read about all of your posts, rants and advices, but since most are from the US or Europe, its hard to relate or find good alternatives here where I live

I would really appreciate to know about other people dealing with dry eyes and other eye related problems in Brazil or from Latim America / similar countries. I tried to find another sub like this but there is none, sadly

Feel free to share your experiences, how you got your root cause diagnosed, or how you are dealing with it in general!

Blepharitis without redness? Needing advice

**In short:** can blepharitis symptoms be worse without the eye being as swollen as before?

Hello! I got diagnosed for blepharitis 2 years ago, but started searching more about it just now because my symptoms got worse.

At the time of my first diagnosis, my eyelids were quite red and swollen, which got better (coming and going) if time. Now, my eyelids aren't red at all, but my eye doctor said that my blepharitis is bad and very likely the cause of my symptoms - which are worsen light sensitivity (needing two sunglasses to go out on the sun) and dry eyes that harden/hurt cause of light. Even inside I feel like my eyes are constantly at least a bit "dry", for a lack of better word.

My question is if my problem is indeed blepharitis since I'm lacking that "redness" and other changes but my symptoms are worse. Does anyone have a similar case? I'm asking because my doctor prescribed an ointment with dexamethasone for 1 week, and I'm unsure about using it since corticoids are bad for the eye.
