JUST FINISHED WATCHING SEASON 2!
I just finished Mushoku Tensei Season 2, and I honestly didn’t expect the ending to be that emotional.
It was pretty strange seeing Rudeus so depressed during the first few episodes because he was completely different in Season 1, but I think the author handled it really well. His character development has been one of my favorite parts of the series. If you compare the Rudeus from the beginning of Season 1 to the one at the end of Season 2, he’s changed a lot. He’s much more mature now and thinks about perverted stuff way less than before.
I was already looking forward to Season 2, but I didn’t expect the ending to be so sad. I was hoping for a happier ending, especially since Season 1 also ended on a pretty depressing note. At least Rudeus is in a much better mental state by the end of the season.
I also liked the slice-of-life episodes at the academy. They weren’t as exciting as the adventure episodes, but I think they fit Mushoku Tensei really well. Not every episode needs to be full of action, and those slower moments gave the characters more time to develop.
The ending hit me even harder than Episode 17 of Season 1. Paul ended up becoming one of my favorite characters because of how much he changed throughout the story. That’s something I really like about this series in general. So many characters go through massive development and almost feel like completely different people by the end. Eris and Ruijerd, for example, both started off as pretty aggressive characters, but by the end of Season 1 they had become much calmer and more mature. Paul also changed a lot. He went from someone who was constantly driven by lust and made selfish decisions to a father who was willing to sacrifice everything for his family. I could also say the same about characters like Sara and Elinalise. It feels like almost every major character grows in a meaningful way instead of staying the same throughout the story.
Overall, I thought Season 2 was really well done. The character development was great, the emotional moments were executed really well, and the animation was top-tier as always. I’d give it a solid 9/10.
I have also shared my thoughts on Season 1:

Just finished watching season 1
I just finished Season 1 of Mushoku Tensei and damn… I was completely wrong.
Like I mentioned in my last post, I was really skeptical at first and wasn’t sure what to think of the series. But those last five episodes completely changed my mind. Eris’ and Ruijerd’s character development was so much better than I expected.
Even though almost everything in Season 1 had already been spoiled for me, those final episodes still hit hard. Now I can’t wait to watch Season 2 completely spoiler-free.
It’s honestly crazy how I went from almost dropping the show in the first few episodes to loving it by the end. I’m really glad I didn’t listen to all the hate and negative reviews. Yeah, Rudeus’ perverted behavior can still be pretty off-putting at times, but if you can look past that, Season 1 was easily a 9/10 for me.

Just finished watching Mushoku Tensei S1 eps17
I was pretty skeptical about watching Mushoku Tensei because the fan service and some of Rudeus’ behavior honestly put me off. I even thought about dropping it after seeing so many negative reviews on MAL.
But after watching episodes 16 and 17 of season 1, I was genuinely surprised. If I just ignore the fan service, I’m actually enjoying it a lot. It doesn’t feel like your typical isekai, and I like that Rudeus is genuinely trying to avoid repeating the mistakes of his past life and become a better person.
I still really hate Rudeus‘s pdf and pervert behavior , but if i don‘t give too much attention to it I can still keep watching the series. Everything else (the worldbuilding, characters, and the way the story develops) has been pretty good and entertaning.
UPDATE:
Just finished the last few episodes and made a post about it:
Which one of these should I watch first
I wanted to watch something similar to Attack on Titan or Evangelion, but I couldn’t decide on one of these.
