Freezing some meal worms, corn and slices of tomato in ice makes their day a little more interesting.
I love their fluffy behinds!
Coming up to 7yrs old, with his old man's grey beard and tash.
Our 16yo did this to him. You can see the plea for help in his eyes.
Of course we took that off, and walked him through some fields with lots of bunnies in them to make him forget.
(He was on a 20m lead, so no bunnies be were inconvenienced!)
We had a Very Bad Thing happen today.
We are in the UK.
A male postal worker lnocked on our door today to deliver a signed-for package.
I opened the door slightly becsause our chiweenie, Crumpet, was loose in the house. I also kept my leg in the space between door and frame.
The postal worker stepped up very close to the door, then shoved the PDA at me, with "Sign here!"
Crumpet did not like him being do close. The dog wriggled over my leg, then head butted the postman in the groin. I immediatley grabbed Crumpet and secured him.
It was not a hard hit, as the dog had very little space in which to launch from, but I don't own male equipment, so I really can not comment about the reality of feeling.
The postman obviously was shaken. He staggered back. But he was gripping his thigh. Crumpet did not touch his thigh.
I asked if he was okay, and apologised repeatedly!
The postman then said that was the second time this week he's been attacked by a dog, and he was going to report our dog.
There was no clothing ripped, no blood drawn.
I am so upset that Crumpet acted in such a way! He has never shown agression to a person before!
Something over the past five days that has had him rather wound up is a large group of travellers (approx ten to twelve caravans coming and going) gained access to the green in front of our house. They are rather loud every night.
I've had to play Radio 3 Unwind on the kitchen radio every night as a distraction to the noise.
I am worried about what could happen if the postman's report leads to further action.
I was absolutely shocked by Crumpet's actions. He's a noisy dog, but he's never done anything like that before!
Our teritorial dog is a little staffy-x, Koko. She has killed wood pigeons for eating our chickens' food!
But open the door to anyone with her by my side, and she just sits and wags at them.
Going forward, I am shutting Crumpet away from the hall when the bell rings!
I have absolute sympathy for the postal worker! No one in such an important job should be attacked in any way.
I just want to apologise again. And I am so afraid.
Our dogs could be taken from us. Crumpet could be put down. We might be banned from ownimg animals.
We had plans to adopt more ex-battery hens.
I'm nervous.
Starlings on the feeder, brambles, water bowl and table every morning!
It's 05:20. My lovely little hen called Sheba is crowing to her heart's content. As she does every morning!

It was mainly someone who talked over Makenzie Crook attempting to contribute and was Martin Freeman.
Freeman's almost absolute exclusion of Stephan Merchant - only an minor mention - really irked me.
A Sweet one....
A customer came in to ask if they could pick up two prescriptions. One for his 40yo daughter, another for his grandchild.
They were on holiday near our pharmacy.
When asked the dates of birth, he referred to the tattoos on his lower left arm for his child, and upper left arm for his grand kid.
One of the many lovely spiders in my shed found a snack last night. (UK)
What are you doing in your shed, and why was I not invited?
We know about no mow May, but we went with a no mow April. Our front garden was hugely overgrown by the end of April.
Tall grass makes the chickens feel uneasy.
We live on the UK SE coast, so there is nothing living in that grass that could harm the chickens. They just do not like walking or foraging in long grass.
I'm giving it one more week for the insects, then I'm mowing.
The chickens are called Bartie, Red and Sheba.
We have to keep a careful eye on our older dog, Koko, around the chickens. She likes to lick them. The chickens are not so fond of that.
Our younger dog, Crumpet, is scared of the chickens, especially Sheba.
Sheba crows every morning. (She is definitely a hen!)
