Paano ba nagwo-work isip ng tao?

After 5 years of working abroad, I finally came home for a vacation.

The first time I saw Mama after all those years, the first thing I noticed was how much she had changed. She looked older, thinner, and seemed weaker than before. It was just painful to see.

I suddenly felt so guilty. Guilty because I wasn't there to help her with simple things, to be with her, or to comfort her when she needed it. She doesn't complain, and she doesn't show it, but you can see it. You can feel her getting tired.

That's when I realized that I should have tried harder, that I should have reached the point faster where I could give her the life she deserved after everything she sacrificed for us. To this day, she's still the one telling us to put ourselves first, focus on our goals, and not worry about her.

But honestly, I just want to take care of her.

SKL we were strangers, but I hope she felt heard.

I met a stranger at a bar when I went to the restroom. Out of nowhere, she started sharing where she’s from and what she’s been going through at her workplace.
She told me she gets body shamed every time she asks permission or lets her manager or coworkers know she’s going on her lunch or break. They would always reply, “Why? You don’t need it. You’re already fat.”
I could really feel her frustration while she was talking. She shared how insecure she’s become because of those constant comments.
The only thing I could do was listen and reassure her that what they say doesn’t define her because she’s beautiful just the way she is.
I just wish I could’ve helped her more, but we were only strangers who happened to meet that night. Two people who probably went out to release the stress we’ve accumulated while living in this game called life.
