How close can a mini split head unit be to a breaker panel? I’m putting a mini split in the garage and the best place for it is going to be about 15” above the panel and left side of the head unit will be about 10” right of panel.

I’m installing an AC disconnect for a mini split. The disconnect is going to be within 5 feet of the panel and I plan on running the wire through the wall directly into the back of the disconnect switch. Can I run Romex 12/2 from the panel to the disconnect? Or should I run THHN/THWN from the panel since disconnects aren’t waterproof?
I’m doing a break change on my car tomorrow and noticed the piston boot folded back on one of the calipers. There is a lot of dirt and grime buildup on the exposed piston. Can it just be cleaned off and the boot folded back over?
