What things in your region have another country/nationality as part of their name?

(Multiple images)

Here in some parts of Brazil, this type of bread is called pão "francês" (french bread).

Chave "inglesa" (english lever), which means that type of adjustsble tool to tighten bolts and screws

There's pizza "portuguesa" (portuguese) which has eggs, oregano, ham, cheese, olives etc.

And "Americano" haircut, which is a very subtle low fade hairstyle with some buzzcut at the bottom parts.

Also some bonus SLANG ones (and i'd like to see more slang or expression ones in the comments):

"Fazer a egípcia" ("do it like an egyptian", sort of) which is gay slang for when you are feigning disinterest, ignoring a situation, acting nonchalant, like something doesn't affect you. Then there's beijo "grego" (greek kiss) which is a sex act lol>!rimming butt!<

What are examples of this in your language?

It's gonna be so weird when the models update

Vyper is still more of a lizard than a snake. Her model is also glitchy, barebones and straight from neon prime. Despite that people already love her so much

Yamato is such an outlier model that it somehow (imo) goes a 180° and she stands out so much that i accepted it as her thing.

Warden is the silliest model in the game for me, character is just a random fantasy cop visually and it doesn't mix well with his lore

Sinclair is completely unfinished, with a drab looking model that's also mostly the training dummy animations

With all that said, people obviously get used to them as the time goes on. So imo it's gonna feel jarring for a while when they finally upgrade their visuals lol (especially yamato, vyper, maybe sinclair)

Is the ideapad slim 5 always low on stock on what?

Hi, i need a new laptop and was kinda deciding on the slim 5. However what i notice is that on Amazon there's barely any listing of this laptop, only one option for it while the slim 3 has a ton. Why is that?

How common and accepted is physical affection between straight men friends, in your country?

And i mean common, genuine physical touch even if brief. Can be playful too but i think that's more accepted overall

Also stuff like sleeping on the same bed if the situation shows up, kissing on the cheek, greeting with a deep hug etc. Or hanging out relaxing and you're semi cuddling while chatting (think casual group sleepover vibes) or briefly hold his hand or arm. Verbal affirmations too like venting to your friend, saying that you love him (as friends do), complimenting him etc.

In Brazil i think we are very mixed on this front but probably on the less affectionate side compared to other countries. We can be very expressive and genuine of course, even playful, but i think most of the above examples will make you be teased as "gay". I suppose in a way it's that brazilian men really like to be perceived as a type of masculinity that even if somewhat flamboyancy is accepted (mostly when young), most touches between guys raises eyebrows. So that it leaves no doubt you're straight and "macho".

Disclaimer though that i'm gay and "gen z" so that's my perspective. Growing up i obviously didn't get a straight guy experience even if many of my close friends were guys. And for gay adult friends this entire situation is very different so anyway lol. How is it where you live?

Abrams' mini icon could almost be the icon for the launcher

He represents a lot of the game's aesthetic in a single design. Blue skin and horns + big coat, cigar and glasses. So like, magic noir.

I feel like it was more of a thing in the 2000s and 2010s to have character faces to represent a game's icon, and this Abrams mug looks very like that imo.

When people say consumer grade (ideapad 3 or 5, LoQ essential) laptops are bad for gaming, is it about high graphics?

Hello everyone, I understand that they aren't gonna be gaming beasts, and you can get issues due to heating, bad cooling/build or power usage, but is that only about actual AAA games at high graphics? Or can similar issues appear if you play older, less intense games at lower graphics? I kinda wanna know if it affects the laptop longevity too, but yeah it's also about the actual performance. Or is it mainly the build quality that makes these laptops bad?

Also assume specs like: 5i - 7i processor 12 - 13 generation, (with -H suffix), 16GB DDR5 RAM, 512GB SSD. integrated gpu which i know limits games a lot, again, mostly wanna know about the above issues.

My background: graphic designer, illustrator, lots of internet browsing and sometimes other programs, and some mid range games. Had a Dell Inspiron 15 for 3.5 years that just died suddenly. I'm not that computer-savy but looking up something to replace it

My Inspiron 15 5510 motherboard died, only issue that it has. How much can i sell the rest for or how can i go about it?

Apparently from what the technician i had try to fix it said, the motherboard is irreparable (molten connector) and at that point, probably more worth it to buy a new laptop (?). Also the board only died because another Tech guy handled it poorly when he was replacing the screen for me, it was after that moment where the device just stopped turning on.

But like how can i at least disassemble and sell the rest of this thing? Does dell have a system to recover them? Everything else is fine, this laptop never gave me problems. There are only a few marks of use on it (3 years old) like chipped keyboard keys and stuff. Idk if the ram still works but probably does, it was 16gb DDR4.

I need to buy a new device since replacing the motherboard, from what i read, is unreliable, expensive and risky. If i can get at least some money from this dead PC, it would help me a ton. Anyone have advice?
