First embroidery design test

First embroidery design test

Drew a design and used inkstitch to digitalised, design is about 6cm long. Embroided on a brother NV880e, used tear away stablizer too.

Would love any feedback, critique and tips to improve!

Next time I need to cut more loose threads as I go to avoid them getting looped back in.

Ill be changing the size of his spots on the next run too, any advice to help keep a clean outline would be appreciated too! Thanks in advance!

First time cotton doll face disaster (advice please)

Been working on my first cotton doll and have been proud of her so far... but this morning I tried to give her a face up and messed up majorly...

I tried to blush her using light watercolour thinking it would stain the fabric gentle and blend... it ended a bit splogey

But my biggest mistake was trying to draw some lashed.. I tried on a piece of scrap and it looked great so I went ahead.... then both test and my dolls markings bled and spread 🥲 i used a copic....

I guess what im asking is what would be the best tools to do a faceup on a doll like this? (And is there any saving her)

Photos are before and after I ruined her face 😩

First machine?

Hiya! I want to start making embroided creations, mainly art dolls, plushies and patches for and on clothes.

I've been trying to work out what's a good machine for all of the above and so far im leaning towards a Brother NV880E Embroidery Only Machine. (I have a sewing machine so not worried about the embrodiery only part)

Does anyone have experience with this model? Would you recommend it or something else? I would love to buy second hand but have had no luck finding a model so I may just have to bite to bullet.. but wanted some experienced advise from the community before making such a big decision. Thanks in advance <3
