Looks like the TD Canada app can now be used to approve logins!

Almost a year ago, thanks to an unexpected Phone replacement/upgrade, I wasn't able to move my TD Authenticate app over to my new phone because they stopped allowing new phones: https://www.reddit.com/r/TDBankCanada/comments/1o7blxq/td_authenticate_app_unsupported_account/

Well, looks like as of the last few weeks, they finally built and enabled a TD Canada app feature, at least on iOS, to approve logins from a computer! Hurray! TD has finally caught up to RBC and others who have been doing this for years.

The only issue is that there are bugs that make this very clunky; ever since getting my new phone (a year ago), the TD Canada app always requires a TOTP via text/call after signing in with Face ID. With this speedbump, you can't just follow the TD app notification to approve the login as it'll get stuck (it refuses to send me the TOTP and keeps asking me to try again in a few minutes) and you have to force quit the App, re-open it and sign in manually, AND THEN see/approve the login request.

I have reported the constantly-needing-to-OTP issue to TD Customer Service many times in the past year, each time they tell me it'll just go away after a while, and it's been a year. Never used to on my old phone, and doesn't for other families and friends using the TD app.

Anyways, at least some good news!

Sim Broadway is an amazing song to test your speakers with

Just got some new speakers, put ”Sim Broadway” from the SimCity 3000 soundtrack on to test them out, and wow! In addition to all of the chirps and highs, I had idea how low the bass went in the song! All those years listening with cheap Creative Speakers really put Jerry Martin’s work at disservice. If you have a chance to play, give it a try!

The new Level app update made our Level Lock+ even worse...

Ever since the 3.6.x firmware updates to our Level Lock+ making every battery say "Critically Low" even when they're new yet continue to operate for several months, I've tried everything to try and get Level to fix our lock, at least downgrade the FW back to the ones that worked great for us before that (https://www.reddit.com/r/LevelLock/comments/1s073oq/critically\_low\_battery\_even\_with\_new\_batteries/). Sadly, even though someone claiming to be a Level firmware lead reached out via DM for more info, a few months has gone by with no meaningful improvement.

So a Level app update comes out for iOS and even says "Improved battery status indicators" got me excited, and I took the update, and what did the App do? Replace "Critically low" with "depleted" and add extra modal messages insisting the Lock can no longer be operated and the battery needs to be replaced. I gave the Lock a try and of course, NFC lock/unlock continues to "work fine" (just without the chime).

With each day that goes by, Level Locks really do feel abandoned. I really do wanted to upgrade to the Lock Pro, but I'm not spending a dime again if it'll just be borked by a FW update just like our Lock+.
