All TJ's dinner: roasted garlic chicken sausage, gnocchi, broccolini, onion, and Calabrian chili spicy pasta sauce 🤤

Y'all, this was SO easy and delicious!

  1. Preheat the oven to 425° F and prep a baking sheet or two.

  2. Slice the onion into thin wedges, and then cut the broccolini into segments about 2 in long. Toss with olive oil, salt and pepper, and seasonings of your choice (I used dried Italian herbs and garlic powder).

  3. Spread the gnocchi, broccolini, and onion out across your baking tray(s). Cut the sausage into chunks and spread that out amongst the other ingredients.

  4. Roast for 25 to 30 minutes, tossing once halfway through. The gnocchi should be browned and crispy on the outside and pillowy soft in the middle!

  5. Spread a dollop of pasta sauce on the bottom of each plate and top with all of the roasted goodies. Sprinkle grated Parmesan and more black pepper on top!

Have any of you SASSy folks experienced hypnotherapy?

I have my first hypnotherapy session scheduled for tomorrow and I'm excited! (A little nervous, too.) I feel like hypnotherapy falls for me in the same place as tarot and reiki and a few other things: You probably get more out of it if you keep an open mind, it's practiced by people who understand human behavior patterns but also may have some sort of "gift," and if it's woo enough that it gets you engaged, you're probably going to feel something.

So I'm just curious if any of you have ever experienced it!

I've been in more traditional talk therapy for years with several different therapists, and I've done a lot of work on myself. I've grown and learned a lot through my own shadow work too. I'm at the point where I'm still experiencing some repeated, negative thought loops, mostly about poor decisions I've made in relationships. I understand that when I go back through those stories yet again, it's my brain hooking into something familiar to fill the silence. But I've learned what I need to learn from these thought loops and I'm ready to let them go, so I'm hoping hypnotherapy will help me reroute those paths and prevent me from defaulting to guilt to fill the silence.

I'm going to think of the session almost like a spell -- a ritual with an intended outcome. And hopefully just keeping my intention present will help me move towards it. We shall see!

Help me understand why traffic circles are so confusing

I learned to drive in an area with a lot of traffic circles so I'm really trying to be sympathetic. Why do people seem so damn confused by traffic circles around here? Are they still new to this area? I drove a route with two of them this morning and inside the first one, the car ahead of me stopped to wave in the person who was waiting to enter and in the second one, that (different) car fully stopped as they were exiting the traffic circle to apparently look both ways before continuing forward....?

Sorry to turn this into nextdoor lol but I'm just so confused by the confusion 🧐

Seagrove day trip from Durham

I've never been to Seagrove and I've got a day off coming up. What would you do there for a day? I like pottery but I love other kinds of art too. I also like unique shops (especially antiques) and good food and animals and pretty outdoor spaces. I'm also up for scenic routes that pass by other interesting places too. Any recommendations are appreciated! Thanks, y'all!

If this playlist is your kinda thang, please tell me where you like dancing in the Triangle

Where do reasonably fun 40-somethings find good rock and alternative (anytime late 90s on, live or club or bar)? Thanks y'all!

Photographer with studio for family of 10?

Hi, all! We're looking to have a family portrait taken this summer, now that we've added a few new family members. Summer weather can be unpredictable, so we're hoping to find a photographer with a studio. Any recommendations for a photographer with a studio that can accommodate 10 people? I've emailed Zerbe Photography and I'm waiting to hear back, but I want to look into a couple others as well. Thanks so much!

Mimosa trees

Does anybody have a relatively accessible mimosa tree that you wouldn't mind me taking some flowers from? I want to use the flowers to make tea so I would prefer a tree that's not right alongside a road.

Edit: I've got two public sources now so I'm good! thanks, everybody!

I finally got my hands on some! With regular peaches, I know they're ripe when they smell fragrant and feel soft. But these tiny guys are already super fragrant but still hard. Are they going to soften up eventually? Just trying to decide how long I can make myself wait until I bite into one...
