Did I mess up the calendar on my vintage Omega Seamaster Quartz?

I recently bought a vintage Omega Seamaster Quartz and I think I may have done something wrong.

The first night I got it (around 10 PM) I wanted to set the day and date. Before using the quickset, I moved the hour hand to around 7 PM because I thought it was a safe time (that’s what I usually do with automatic watches).
Since then, the calendar seems a bit off. The date starts changing around 11 PM, and at 11:00-11:10 PM the date is already changed but the day is still halfway between the old and the new one.
The watch keeps perfect time and both the day and date still change, just not at the same time.
Did I actually damage something, or is this normal on these old Omega quartz movements? Is there an easy fix or should I take it to a watchmaker?

Thanks!

Which Tudor would you buy if your goal was to wear it for a while and eventually resell it?

Hi everyone,
I’m deciding between these two Tudor Prince models and I’d love to hear some opinions from people who know them better than I do.

Option 1:
Tudor Prince Date 34mm Automatic with the linen dial
2824 movement
Two-tone
Serviced. €1,200.

Option 2:
Tudor Prince Quartz Oysterdate 34mm
Swiss ETA 940.111 quartz movement
Two-tone
Rolex signed crow
White Roman dial with diamond markers
Also serviced. €900.

I know they’re quite different watches, but my goal is to enjoy wearing it while also making a smart purchase. I buy and sell watches occasionally, so resale value definitely matters.

My questions are:
Which one would you choose?
Which is more likely to hold its value?
Which would be easier to resell in a year or two?
Do these prices seem fair?
I’ve attached photos of both. Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks!

Omega Seamaster TV Dial…Worth the repair investment?

Got this 70s Omega Seamaster TV Dial ref. 196.0082, quartz for €340. I’m 6months into vintage watches and this is my first “serious”piece.
Movement is solid, keeps time perfectly. Problem: cracked plexi in one corner and the hour hand sits about 0.5mm off when I adjust it. Maybe I’m just paranoid and should use it like this but I’d love to have this beautiful piece in perfect condition.

Seller offered €25 compensation, which is basically nothing.

Before I decide whether to repair or return it (the seller offered me cause he didn’t said a word about the crack), I need real numbers:

How much would a proper plexi replacement + installation + hour hand regulation actually cost in Spain? Doesn’t need to be exact.

Because depending on that number, the math changes completely on whether it’s worth the hassle.

Thoughts? Worth the repair costs or keep looking for something better for similar price point?

Just picked up a Seiko Dolce [8J41-6100] for €120

I’ve been looking to get a vintage classy Seiko for a long time. Just picked up a Seiko Dolce 8J41-6100 for €120. It was recently checked by a watchmaker, has a new battery, and comes with the original papers.
I know the 8J41 is a HAQ movement, but I’d love to hear from people who actually own one. How has yours been in terms of accuracy, reliability, and long term ownership?
Did I get a good deal? Any interesting facts about this model or the movement that I should know?

HELP! Which of these three vintage JDM Seikos would you pick?

Hi everyone!
I’m looking for a slim, elegant vintage Japanese quartz watch that I can wear regularly without worrying too much. I’d like something reliable, accurate, a bit exclusive, and with some collector interest.
These are the 4 options I’m considering:
Seiko Credor V701-2A40 (1995) – €120

Seiko Dolce 8J41-0AFQ (8J41 HAQ movement) – €120

Seiko Spirit Titanium 7N47-8000 (1994) – €85

All of them in excellent condition, revised and with new battery.
I know they’re all quite different in their own way but if you could only choose one, which would it be, and why?
Thanks! I’d really like to hear the opinions of people who have owned or handled any of these.

Is this watch worth it???

I’ve been looking for a vintage Omega quartz for quite a while to add to my collection.
After some time, I finally found one in 35mm in a trusted WhatsApp watch sales group where I’ve bought a few pieces before. The nice thing is that they offer a warranty, which gives me some peace of mind.
I’ve looked at plenty of vintage Omegas elsewhere, but I don’t really trust most of them. I suspect some have been heavily polished, and even though a few are much cheaper, they just don’t inspire much confidence. Maybe I am not looking in the right places… Any suggestions???
Do you think this one is worth buying this one for 340€ considering it comes serviced and with a warranty? Or would you keep looking on the vintage market until a better option comes along?

Thanks a lot!!!

Negotiated a Rado Green Horse down to €145 — but now I’m paranoid it’s too good to be true

Hey everyone,
I think I may have just picked up the best vintage watch deal I’ve found so far… but since I’m pretty new to collecting vintage pieces, I’d love to hear what you guys think.
A few days ago I came across a Rado Green Horse (ref. 6620.2) on Vinted. It was listed for €220, I sent an offer, and we settled at €145. According to the seller, it had already been serviced and it’s running an ETA 2776 movement.
To be honest… when I bought it, part of me was thinking that it was too good to be true.😂
Before buying it, I’d spent weeks looking at vintage Omegas, Longines, Midos… Amazing watches, but prices have gone too high and I was looking for something between 100-200€. What amazed me is after looking more than 100 quartz vintage pieces in this price point this Rado popped up and, I don’t know… something about it just clicked.
The champagne dial is amazing. Nothing flashy, just classy. The steel and gold case looks incredibly well balanced. It has something unique that just made me feel that I needed to get it.
One thing I really liked is that it doesn’t look over-restored. No refinished dial, no polished case… just honest wear. A few scratches and a nice bit of patina, the original acrylic crystal has been polished and what seems to be the original green leather strap that’s definitely seen some years but still has plenty of character.
As for the movement, from everything I’ve read the ETA 2776 has a great reputation. Twenty-five jewels, automatic with a bi-directional rotor, Swiss-made, reliable… basically one of those movements you service every now and then and it just keeps going.
But the reason I’m posting is because I have a few questions.
First, the bezel. Most Green Horse models I’ve found online seem to have a smooth bezel, while mine has this fluted one. Was that an original variation, or is it possible parts have been swapped?
Second… the price. €145 for a serviced ETA 2776 feels almost ridiculous. And I’m still wondering if I simply got lucky.
I also checked the caseback. It has 6620.2 engraved along with what appears to be a serial number. The movement looks clean to my eye and I can’t spot anything obviously suspicious… but I’d definitely appreciate opinions from people with more experience.
And finally, what’s the story with vintage Rado?
Are they genuinely undervalued compared to brands like Omega, Longines or Mido, or did I just found one hidden gem?
I’d love to hear your thoughts. Did I end up with a solid vintage piece… or should I be looking a little more carefully for signs that something isn’t original?
Either way, I’m really happy with it, and if this watch is the real deal, I honestly think Rado deserves a lot more love than it gets.
Thanks everyone!
