Where do you guys play?

My group (4, DM included) are looking for a place for a session this 17th.

One of our members are already doing the scouting but I also want to help out. So far, I know that they have asked/inquired with the following — Whimsy Cafe and Roll Play

Place needs to be close to One Ayala Makati and if possible PWD accessible so little to no steps/stairs.

Any leads would be great, thanks!

Filipiniana picks at MIBF

Hi everyone! I’m a severely whitewashed Filipino who has recently been on a Filipiniana kick. I’ll be attending MIBF on September 12, mainly to pick up my preordered Elle and Less Happened by Ronaldo Vivo Jr. from Avenida.

I just finished his Dreamland Trilogy and absolutely loved it. It was wonderfully written, and at this point, I’d basically read anything Vivo writes.

I’ve read quite a few Filipiniana books already, but I’d love some recommendations for what else to pick up at MIBF!

I’m open to both fiction and nonfiction, especially anything that explores Philippine history, society, politics, culture, folklore, or spirituality.

For fiction, I tend to gravitate toward literary fiction, social realism, crime, horror, historical fiction, and anything strange, dark, disturbing, or emotionally devastating. For nonfiction, I enjoy history, journalism, essays, and social or political commentary like Some People Need Killing, False Nostalgia, and The Conjugal Dictatorship.

My current targets, aside from more Ronaldo Vivo Jr. titles, are Some People Are Smarter Than Others and Sikodiwa. I already have Narkokristo, 1896, Ang Lahat ng Hayop sa Ating mga Yapak, and Smaller and Smaller Circles, so those are covered! For booths - I plan to drop by Ateneo Press and UP Press.

English or Filipino is fine. I’d especially love recommendations for books or authors I might otherwise overlook while browsing the booths.

What are your must-buys at MIBF? Would love recommendations please!

What’s your weekend read?

This is my second book from Ronaldo Vivo JR’s Dreamland series, my first book was Bangin. Grabe mas malalim yung Tagalog dito so talagang may struggle hehe. So far so good, it’s pretty intense agad.

What’s your current read? I’m coming from a slump so I’d like to see what everyone else is reading to get inspired

Kindred Clinics - avoid it at all cost! Worst clinic ever

SHARING MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS CLINIC

2022, I booked a counseling session with them as I was experiencing anxiety attacks. I am diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and am taking medications for it, I told them this during their intake procedure. During the tele-counseling, the counselor assigned to me was wearing pambahay, playing on her phone, and worst of all, told me -- "ganun talaga" when dealing with my anxiety disorder??? Nakaka-wtf talaga!!

Now a separate incident, I decided to give their service another chance, bad decision on my part talaga!

On November 3, 2025, I purchased and prepaid in full an HPV vaccination package from Kindred Clinic in the total amount of PHP 14,750.00, which includes three (3) doses. I specifically availed this package from their Sta. Rosa, Laguna branch due to accessibility and convenience.

On December 29, 2025, I was informed that the Sta. Rosa branch would be closing on January 15, 2026, and that I would need to either (a) move my second dose earlier, (b) transfer to another branch which is inaccessible to me, (c) go to another clinic not affiliated with them, or (d) opt for home service. My second dose was scheduled for January 18, 2026, and I was also asked to decide what to do regarding my third dose.

Upon receiving this information, I made repeated attempts to contact Kindred Clinic via email, hotline, and social media channels, all of which were ignored.

On January 5, 2026, after I was forced to comment publicly on their social media posts just to get their attention, I finally received a call from +63 920 920 5416. The agent, who identified herself as “Angie,” helped me reschedule my second dose to January 14, 2026, and explicitly assured me that my third and final dose would be administered via home service at no additional cost. This home service option was suggested by their own representative.

During this call, I also raised their complete lack of customer service responsiveness. I was informed that their “hotline” is only for outgoing calls and not for receiving calls, which effectively means they have no functional customer support line for consumers.

However, on January 8, 2026, I received an email stating that my request for home service for the third dose had been cancelled, and that instead, they would “outsource” me to their partner clinics. This was never part of our agreement and is a unilateral change to the terms after full payment had already been made. Once again, I attempted to contact them through email and phone, and once again, I received no response.

As of today, I have attempted to call both their listed contact numbers multiple times—one is out of service, and the other is unanswered despite repeated attempts. This has been a consistent pattern of behavior. Upon researching, I found that many other consumers are experiencing the same treatment.

Now, it's May 13 - the day before my vaccine schedule at the new branch and I wish to move it due to health issues, there are NO customer service available whatsoever!!!

EDIT: For those two times I got my vaccine at their Santa Rosa branch, all of the equipment needed were broken. Wala silang pang-BP na matino. They said low-batt daw and walang charger... they instead asked me nalang if may history ba ako ng high blood pressure... like wtf???

My dog is turning 1 year old next month, I want to get him a treat. A small pup cake, he’s just a chihuahua so something small lang sana. His favorite protein is chicken, no allergies naman.

Delivery/pick up around Sta Rosa sana.

Doesn’t need to look fancy.

Any suggestions would be great!

Salamat!

Mga 2 weeks na kami naghahanap, Napaka hirap! Yung mga agency, OA naman sa placement fees. Abot 16k???

My gosh.
