What age is appropriate age to give a phone?

There’s a lot of research that says we should hold off from giving our kids a phone for as long as possible. When did you give your child a phone? What was your logic and reasoning? How do you deal with kids who have peers who have phones? Are there other services or ways you stay connected (like a watch or flip phone)?

WHY Do I feel like this? Am I going thru Perimenopause?

Entering your perimenopause years can be daunting, especially when you’re experiencing symptoms you never expected. Forget about hot flashes — why are we getting brain fog or gaining weight despite eating healthy?

You probably weren’t even thinking about this phase in life 10 years ago, but now it’s hard to ignore. If you’re finding yourself dealing with this, you’re not alone, and there are solutions that can help you through the process.

Parenthood Together reached out to registered dietitian and nutritionist Heather Ritter, MS, RDN, LDN, CIEC, to answer all our questions regarding perimenopause and how to navigate it with a better understanding. Because after all, parenting doesn’t get easier as kids get older, so entering your 40s and 50s with more knowledge can feel far less confusing and a lot more manageable.

Are we setting parents up to fail?

Serious question.

We expect parents to:

* raise kids with minimal support
* work full-time to survive
* afford childcare that can cost as much as rent
* somehow still be present, healthy, and “balanced”

All while living far from family.

At what point do we admit this system might not be working?

Do you think modern parenting is set up to fail—or is this just the reality we have to adapt to?
