How can I get better retention rate in my new niche? (NOT AI)

How to get better retention rate on a 15 min video that is about reading reddit stories with Minecraft gameplay in the background?

I understand that this is different than other content that I make.

Biggest YouTubers in this niche don't even have hooks because of their giant fanbases.

This will be my first video in the niche, so I need an hook, good thumbnail.

I'm just scared, how can I keep the viewers watching past the hook (past the 30 seconds).

I picked 6 good stories. (AITA subreddit, lol)

Also, I DONT USE AI.

Gameplay was recorded by me, I use my voice, I use real stories and editing will be done by me.

So as I understand, I will be miles better than the AI slop channels?

A52S 5G appreciation post!!

(This picture) My current phone Xiaomi 14T feel on the floor and glass is broken.

I'm waiting for the Xiaomi to get fixed.

I had my A52S lying somewhere in my room.

I had to charge it, turn it on.

To be honest, it was brutally laggy at the start.

So I factory rested it.

AND

Wow!! Its peak.

The phone released 5 years ago. It is a mid-range.

The phone I'm typing this post is great. It is smooth for social media.

Cameras are fine since they are 5 years old.

And all of that on 6gb of ram.

I can't believe it how this phone is capable. The good old times when Samsung was using Snapdragon for their phones.

Appreciate your phones, guys!

Rant post: I really can't do it anymore.

So this is me ranting. Pretty irrational, but I gotta let it out of me.

I can't belive it. I have been doing videos for over 3 months now. The channel is old more than 4 years. I got multiple 10k shorts views on MINECRAFT. After those shorts i quitted youtube for 1 year.

3 months before i decided to go back. I wanted to get some subs. Not necessarly money, but I wanted to be proud of myself.

First video I did, I didn't make any script, editing was really bad, but it got over 200 views (THE MOST VIEWED VIDEO IN THESE 3 MONTHS). It was a Minecraft shitpost

Few videos after that, they slowly gotten less and less views. Youtube also slowly lowered the impressions, from the standard 5k-6k to 1-2k.

I was pretty pissed. I tried different micro niches in Minecraft, I GOT EVEN LESS VIEWS, LIKE ONLY 10-20 VIEWS.

The worst part is, THE VIDEOS GOT BETTER OBJECTIVLY. I know that they aren't good, but it's better.

Now, I am trying MECCHA CHAMELEON (viral game).

First video gets almost 200 views. Im pretty happy.

Second view gets 50 views. Im angry, but maybe a bad video.

Now, the latest video gotten 120 views.

THE WORST PART IS: I thought it would get better views. The editing is pretty good. Like the stuff that gets 10k views.

CTR IS 1.3%. I got 6k impressions.

I DONT UNDERSTAND. WHY IS MY THUMBNAIL SO BAD. It looks okay, but it gets 1.3%.

Also, people leave after 30 seconds.

I made a different hook. Got fast paced editing. Smooth editing.

I dont know what to do.

I wasted 3 months to get 10 subs.

I objectively improved with editing and thumbnail making.

I thought i would get more subscribers.

Im feeling pretty down.

How can a dumb video get more views than a good video with a good idea.

RANT IS OVER.

Thanks for reading my rant. It seems stupid, I know. But I dont have anyone to vent to. Please tell me tips and how can I help myself. I dont know if I should just quit.

Which thumbnail should I use?

Title of the video: "I Tested 5 Myths in Meccha Chameleon (Do They Work?)"

In this Meccha chameleon video i test 5 myths. All of them are fake lol.

First thumbnail i made myself.

Second thumbnail is with vidlq's ai.

Also the first thumbnail is little bit clickbaity.

Tell me which is better.

Should i post orginal or the AI one?

u/pcEnjoyer-OG — 6 days ago

Are you excited for uploading your next video?

Hello gentlemen.

I spent the last few days editing a video that's under 3 minutes (lol).

I listened to VIDlq, chatgpt and other YouTubers in meccha chameleon niche.

I implemented better editing and better pacing.

Thumbnail and title are good.

The hook is not bad.

My last video on the same niche got 95 views.

Now I can't set a fixed goal like 1k or 10k views, because I could be disappointed.

It goes live today at 18 CTE.

I'm sooo excited!!!

Now about you: are you excited? Did you also spend a lot of time making the video? Did you make some changes?

I feel like with each upload it's a one lottery ticket.

Tell me MYTHS about Meccha Chameleon (FOR A VIDEO)

Yo guys,

im making a new video thats about busting meccha chameleon myths.

I need 5 more myths.

Please tell me some myths :)

u/pcEnjoyer-OG — 14 days ago

Please make my thumbnail FANTASTIC!!

My video title is:

"Playing Meccha Chameleon Until My PC Explodes".

Summary of the video: it is very short, around 1:50 minute long.

I play meccha chameleon, but every few seconds my graphics get worse. I throw around a lot of sound effects and known memes.

At the end my fan spins loud, and then I put a gif of a computer exploding.

Im a beginner at editing, so this thumbnail is not good. Please make it great, because I actually edited the video pretty good.

I want it to be like the 1M+ views thumbnails of meccha chameleon.

I use Canva premium.

Be brutally honest how I should change my thumbnail.

Thanks!!

What did I do wrong on my last video?

So it has 32 views,

CTR 2.9%

and the retention is really bad. Only 15% watched untill the end.

My channels name is Luknoob, search me up.

Look at the last video.

Was my hook bad?

Tell me what is wrong about my hook.

Editing?

I am new to Davinci resolve and it's editing.

Please tell me, because I spent 4 hours editing this😭

I am making a new video that will be 3 minutes long and a similar challange.

Tell me how not to screw up that next video.

Thanks!!!

E-scooter hate is rising in Europe

I don't really know if this is a good thing, or a bad thing.

Children are driving fast, illegal scooters. Since they can't think about consequences, they drive fast, with no helmet and no knowledge about traffic.

Then they crash, and the media is mad about E-scooter companies.

At the other hand, we enjoy and love riding our scooters. It's like a fun hobby. Most people in here know at least generally about safety and traffic.

I just hate that people who SHOULD drive e scooters are getting consequences because people who SHOULDN'T drive e scooters are driving them.

How can I improve my editing?

Name of the channel is Luknoob, see my last few videos. I'm looking especially at the last one (Why Minecraft music makes you feel so lonely). My retention isn't good, it's only that 25% watched until the end.

CTR is very good, like 7% (but it's been only a few days).

The good thumbnail and title combo makes people click, but after they see the editing they click off. Also, is the ai voice a problem? I could use my real voice (but with a little accent 😅).

Please tell me how I can improve my editing.

I currently use CapCut free, but I think it isn't enough. Should I download Davinci resolve? I'm scared of that interface lmao.

I really want to make it big on YouTube.

Why am I not getting impressions on my latest video?

Channel's name is Luknoob, if you want to see the problem.

My last few videos aren't vastly different, and they all got impressions after 12-24 hours.

On my newest video (similar to my other ones) it has passed over 30 hours and I still didn't get impressions.

On this video I got 5 impressions. On other videos I have around 5000 impressions.

Why is this happening?? I edited and made this video for 3 hours.

P.s. I know that my editing isn't the best, please don't make fun of me

My CTR is pretty low (1.2%), how is my thumbnail?

I put like 4 hours of work into this video. I don't want it to flop.

Here are also some of my other stats.

I posted the video 12 hours ago

u/pcEnjoyer-OG — 3 months ago

I posted my first "high quality" video.

I make gaming videos for Minecraft. Some shorts and a few long form videos. Before this video I edited for less than 30 minutes, didn't have a script etc.

I wanted something higher. I was getting around 10K for shorts and under 300 for long form videos 😭

I made a script, used a good ai voice, made my own Minecraft footage and used some from the internet. The video is long around 4 and half minutes.

I edited it for 4 hours. That means 1 hour per 1 minute.

I added chapters for the first time.

I have a pretty good YouTube thumbnail.

Good title.

I've written hashtags and tags.

My current subscriber count is 137. I hope it changes hahaha.

I will post how my video performs.
